We all are controlled to some degree obviously in order to live in "civilized ordered society". We get annoyed when it seems others are not being similarly "controlled".
Controls like traffic signals make sense to us, and we largely obey them. Speed limits largely don't, and we largely break them.
We can't legally obtain and use marijuana in all 57 states, it's still against Federal law. It's hardly enforced, which is another peeve of mine. Have fewer laws and then enforce them equally. Ha.
Even freedom of speech etc. is limited and controlled. Beer drinking is not unless in so doing we endanger others.
