Husker radio calls are blacked out from streaming w/o a subscription
gotta pick it up over the air waves
Which I can do in NW Iowa
WTF well ya that's why it's a radio - when they start charging then it's time to bring out the knives, pitchforks and torches

Peacock is what, six bucks for a month? I don't really have a problem paying that, plus I can watch old Ric Flair matches.

true. $6 isn't much. but i am legit sick of paying for streaming services though. shit adds up for me when I'm already paying Netflix, HBOMax (refuse to call it MAX), YouTubeTV, and Disney/ESPN+. might have to start canceling this shit. always say I am going to and I never do. I'm one of those assholes who signs up for something, rarely uses it, gets billed every month and then never cancels. Comcast/NBC is hoping to get another sucker like me with this bullshit....and not gonna lie they probably will.

Not caring about CFB has opened up a lot of extra Saturday time... But I usually golf on Sunday. And I pay attention to the NFL for fantasy football, so that can be a bit of a conflict.

But at least we usually tee off in the morning (between 8 and 9 AM), so if I miss any of the NFL action, it's usually only the early games which start at 10 AM PT.

And this is EXACTLY what all of us predicted when everyone thought a la carte cable was a good idea.

The people who didn't think things through thought "I spend $100/mo for cable with 100 channels but only watch 20; if I can get a la carte I'll get everything I want for $20/mo!" The idea that unbundling cable was going to be a huge money saver didn't actually pan out.

And it was buttressed by the live TV streaming services in the early days which were largely loss leaders and underpriced, and ever since have been climbing up, up, up nearly to cable rates.

And then everyone complains about cost like:

Streaming may cost less, but it is way easier to cancel, and you can watch almost anything whenever you want. I will piss on cable's grave. Good riddance.

doesn't pan out for fans of live sports or other valuable content.

Yeah, the Dish Network lady first acted like I kicked her dog when I called to cancel.  By the end of the call, she was treating me like I murdered her children.

I'd have to figure out how to get the radio call. I don't even know what station they are on anymore.

would I have to pay to stream the radio call??
You can simply go to the UW radio station website and listen for free.
For Florida, it's WRUF AM 850.
It's nice to hear your team's announcer from afar.

This ^^^

I keep cable for this very reason.

Brother in law kicks me in the nuts about it frequently.

He invited us over for the SB a couple years back to watch on his Hulu.  That bullshit buffered for hours, and we were stuck in the 1st qtr as the actual 4th qtr was starting.

He apologized profusely as I was leaving.  With a shit eating grin on my face….”You get what you pay for —- not much.”

I’m sure things have improved, but I’m taking no chances yet.

the delivery method doesn't matter

only reason I have YouTubeTV is so I can watch live sports. I literally have not watched anything else but sports on it. It's like $75/mo, used to be $55, price just kept going up.

wish there was a streaming service that was strictly just live sports. Mainly just NFL and college football. That's all I want, don't want anything else YouTubeTV has to offer.
