Home sales fall again in July, as supply drops to near quarter-century low
well it is kinda impossible for home sales to increase when literally nobody is selling their houses bc they are already have interest rates on their mortgages locked in well below the current rates and builders can't deliver new product on time.

don't think it's a great thing- especially for people that want to buy homes because it's keeping prices high- but it also is not a thing of doom and gloom sky is falling oh no we're all gonna die. it just is what it is.

Construction is still going like crazy around me, mostly apartment high rises, but some office buildings (which I don't understand).  The only new single family homes are where they bought up an old one for the lot and demo'd.

We drive 37 miles north for my lessons every two weeks and it's solid suburbia out there, craziness and traffic.
it's a renters market right now and will probably stay that way for awhile, so kinda makes sense that apartments are booming everywhere. self-storage and industrial/warehouse is blowing up everywhere as well- those make sense as well too. people moving and relocating all the time- especially with COVID people fleeing shithole California and the rustbelt NY/NJ/MI/IL/OH/PA/MA for the southeast and southwest in even higher numbers than before- they need storage- and warehouse makes sense as more and more shopping goes to online year over year which is causing shopping malls and retail centers to die a slow death- those goods sold online need to be warehoused and shipped from somewhere right?

office makes zero sense to me either- huge developers like Related are going all in on office high rises in downtown West Palm Beach- they are flying up right now and that just makes no sense to me- the work from home stuff isn't ever going completely away- there's already a ticking time bomb on existing office space- lot of commercial RE landlords in office space are going to take a freaking blood bath here soon.

The 10 Biggest Office Buildings Underway In Atlanta, Which Have Nearly All Their Space To Fill (bisnow.com)

Atlanta’s love affair with growth may explain why developers, despite facing an office market flooded with the most empty space in its history, are under construction with more than 2.5M SF of prime office space in the city. But only 11% of that space is pre-leased, according to Avison Young data, compared to the pre-leased average of 48% in the biggest U.S. office markets, according to Colliers.

Things are still moving over here on the Gulf Coast, albeit not at the high rates of the recent past. Most buyers are cash. Builders are still going at a pretty good clip too.

Pelosi's husband is of course majorly wealthy, they can "live" anywhere they want, as often as they want.  The really wealthy can easily avoid income taxes by not having any  taxable income.

Portal Innovations Signs First Lease at Science Square Labs | What Now Atlanta

This is maybe 2 miles from me, kind of an interesting concept I think, "mixed use" next to Tech.  Tech has really expanded a lot over the years, it surprised me when I came back.  Student population has quadrupled and then some over the decades.  I guess that's good, they don't offer many garbage majors.

We go here a lot by boat and rent a golf cart. It really is a gem of a place.
