Again, you ignore the original source of misleading, which is the Bill itself.  So it is you who riled by the media, not me.

If you were just a little more objective- you would realize that what you described as a “stupid law that is ineffective virtue signaling “ is the point here.

Remember- my original comment which introduced this into the thread- was simply pointing out that stupid laws get passed or introduced all the time, which clearly are not enforceable or constitutional.

YOU were the one who got riled- specifically at the media’s reporting of it.
Let me sum this up more clearly.

The law: Stupid and bad.

The law: Not stupid bad in the way the article painted, because that article was heavy on bullshit.

To be more direct, despite a headline that says "bill that could make using wrong pronouns a felony, fineable up to $10,000," the bill cannot make the act of simply using the wrong pronouns as felony, fineable up to $10,000.

(You are to a degree correct on the riled part. I was riled by the way this was reported because it constructed in a way that lied to folks. And the untrue elements seemed to be a large part of what got you riled. To connect back to the top, this law can be both bad, but not bad for the made up reasons in that article.)

Many tweets are just links to news articles or something else. In that case, pretty easy to check it elsewhere. But say you read the Wall Street Journal. Many of the people writing there have their own Twitter accounts and talk about what they are interested in or reporting on before the stories are even published.

The law reads that if you intimidate another individual by word or act ones gender identity or expression you are in violation of this law

The main concern here is if use of improper pronoun falls into this area

if the writers did not mean that they needed to say so

PARIS (AP) — The grandmother of the French teenager shot dead by police during a traffic stop pleaded Sunday for rioters to stop as the nation faced a sixth straight night of unrest, while authorities expressed outrage at an attack on a mayor’s home that was hit by a burning car that injured family members.

The grandmother of 17-year-old Nahel, identified only as Nadia, said in a telephone interview with French news broadcaster BFM TV, “Don’t break windows, buses ... schools. We want to calm things down.”

She said she was angry at the officer who killed her grandson but not at the police in general and expressed faith in the justice system as France faces its worst social upheaval in years. Her grandson, identified by only his first name, was buried on Saturday.

The violence appeared to be lessening. But as a new night approached, the office of Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said 45,000 police officers would again be deployed in the streets to counter anger over discrimination against people who trace their roots to former French colonies and live in low-income neighborhoods. Nahel is of Algerian descent and was shot in the Paris suburb of Nanterre.

I no longer do Twitter, but when I did, quite often. It all depends on who you're following. Assuming you're following a lot of people with whom you have a shared interest, chances are there will be a lot of things you see relevant to that shared interest.

Golf in Spain uses more water than the cities of Barcelona and Madrid combined, XR said in a video posted on Twitter on Sunday. One hole on a golf course requires more than 100,000 liters (22,000 gallons) of water a day to maintain the area around it, according to XR, which cited data from Spanish non-profit Ecologistas en Acción (Ecologists In Action). Only 0.6% of the population plays golf, XR said.

I'm skeptical of the water use of Barcelona and Madrid combined

Suspect it's going to fail badly, similar to when Google tried to create their own Facebook clone.

A few people dissatisfied with Twitter will dabble with it (while keeping their Twitter account because that's where everybody is), and because only a few people are dabbling, it'll never hit the critical mass needed to make it "necessary" to be on their version or be left behind.

IMHO of course.
