I'm still reading the decision, but it's the HEROES Act of 2003. It explicitly grants the ability to forgive certain loans, and gives the Secretary of Education additional powers in the case of national emergency.

Whether that statutory power given to the Secretary was exceeded is at question.
Much less dramatic that stolen. Still probably not legal.

Just spit out a nice sip of Deep Eddy. Thanks.
Deep Eddy, like Tito's, is from Austin.  I bet you're secretly wearing your Vince Young underoos right now, aren't you? ;)

Well I have some bad news for you as far as what television commercials are going to look like next year. Also Trump's businesses declared bankruptcy four times, a common tactic to avoid paying loans.
Good thing we don't watch much television, and when those ads come on, they get muted.

The Supreme Court has turned into the kind of court that talk radio was railing against throughout the 90s.

I don't ever listen to talk radio so I guess I'm curious as to what this means?

Why the White House thinks new student loan plan will hold up in court | The Hill

I don't see a "Why" in this summary, they are basing it on another act "HEA" which I know zip about.  I still don't see how a President can "spend" over $400 billion without an appropriation no matter what.  It's scary to me.

This also is another sign about how vague legislation typically is.
