Same here. I love salty, spicy, sour, bitter, and umami, but I'm not a sweets guy. If I'm having breakfast, I prefer a breakfast sandwich to a donut.

And beer is a great source of carbs. Especially hoppy, bitter IPA ;-)
Yes, it's bacon. Make an exception maybe.

I'm not big on sweets, either.  I like pumpkin and pecan and sweet potato pie at Thanksgiving, and I like ice cream especially in the summer.  I like a good blueberry cobbler made in a Dutch oven buried in the campfire coals whilst camping.  But I don't eat much of any of them, even when the season or occasion calls for it.

I read enough about the problems with sugar to minimize it to the extent reasonable, fructose in particular.  It's metabolized differently from glucose.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I find Krispy Kreme donuts to be pretty average.  I mean, they're tasty. I'll eat one when it's the only option.

But we have several local bakeries that produce a superior product IMO.  With the added bonus that they also bake and sell kolaches and klobasnek.
Can honestly say haven't eaten those sugar laden puff pockets for quite some time. Cindy just finished an apple pie of sorts only at sprinkle of brown sugar added for the oatmeal topping along with a dash or two of cinnamon. Might chase it with a Leinenkugel Juicy peach

Fun day. Have the damn dryer open... Again. I've replaced the heater element and associated sensors/etc twice, had to replace the idler pulley and belt once, and now the damn thing trips the breaker every time I try to start a cycle. Worked fine for multiple loads Monday. Tried one load Tuesday and it cuts out basically immediately.

Happens on air fluff and I've tested the heater element and no short there, so I don't think it's the heater. I've pulled the motor and with a multimeter I don't see any direct shorts from any terminal (except GND obv) to the frame of the motor, so it's not an obvious problem. Plus I would assume a direct short in the motor wouldn't cause the dryer to even ATTEMPT to spin up, and would trip as soon as I hit the start button. But in this case it takes 1-2 seconds for the motor to start spinning up before it trips.

But I'm still thinking it's the motor, so I guess I'll just have my dryer in pieces in the garage until tomorrow when Amazon delivers a new motor.

Ugh.

I've always thought of KK as a California thing, but just googled it and apparently it started in North Carolina and first franchised across the southeast.

Learn something new every day.
Interesting. They didn’t get to my part of NorCal until I was in middle school. They had a burst of novelty and then fell back.

There’s a great documentary, maybe on Netflix about the rise and fall of the Laotian doughnut king of Southern California.
