I had thought heavier vehicles might go to fuel cells, and we'd have truck stops dispensing hydrogen for them.  Cars would be EVs and we'd have charging stations for them.

This would be a "ways" off of course.  I've heard some folks who apparently think if all new cars are EVs in 2035, it means all cars total would magically be EVs.

Barring any untoward development, the Resident Genius World Headquarters will be moving in mid June. The Mrs and I looked at a house last Thursday and put in an offer, not even allowing ourselves to date think we won the bid. Our realtor called this morning and told us that they had accepted our offer, and it's been a blur ever since.

Yup. Northern suburbs, basically 20 minutes due north of where we are currently, in an area that we wanted from the outset. Very few houses at any price point are for sale there, we feel incredibly fortunate.

Are fire engines gonna go EV?
While they could as they rarely travel high mileage, I don't know that they contribute enough to emissions to make that a high priority. B/C they rarely travel high mileage.

Congrats,Juicey Lucey's all around - You'll need a heater and a somewhat Big Screen in the Garage. Won't need a cooler where you're at during the season

PS I'd appreciate it if you didn't rig the contest for some so called poor dirt farmer. Don't be getting his hopes up he cheers for the bugeaters ya know - that would just be mean

Best large US cities to start a business in 2023 | Fox Business

I wonder how much it really matters versus having a sound business plan and idea and decent capital.  And then there is the neighborhood situation where you locate.  I'd bet a good idea in the right area of Detroit is better than a weak idea in Miami.

Yup, growing fast, no state income tax, tourism, a lot of positives in the state.  I'd rather have a great idea in Buffalo than a lousy idea in Florida though.

I am pretty harsh on restaurants in general but we tried a new place last night for M's Day and it was excellent, I was surprised.  It's part of a small group of restaurants, we go to two of the others fairly often and they are solid, and closer, this one is about a mile away (we walked).  They have a nice menu, we did appetizers only (and wine).  Service was excellent, ambiance very good, food interesting.  It was about $100 for two before I got that second bottle of wine ...

That includes one $42 bottle of rose' and a charcuterie board.  We could easily have stopped there really, they had some good bread.  Another in that group is called South City Kitchen which is more "southern" in a way, and Lure which is seafood, both closer to us.    I like that they are different and not some large chain.

May be an image of corn and text that says 'O Joel Holmberg Davis 1d Jimmy Red Corn, Georgia, USA. The corn was grown by bootleggers in the islands close to Charleston, SC who found that it made spectacular hooch, or moonshine whiskey. It was brought back from the brink of extinction by renowned Southern farmer and seed saver Ted Chewning. Now, several farms grow this heritage corn.'
