atheists have done bad things w/o being good people?
It was an abridged version of the Steven Weinberg quote, "With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.  But for good people to do evil things, you need religion."
“The Swamp is where Gators live.  We feel comfortable there, but we hope our opponents feel tentative. A swamp is hot and sticky and can be dangerous." - Steve Spurrier

People link theism and atheism with all these other things - ethics, intelligence, etc....when there is no connection.  It's simply an opinion on ONE claim and one claim only.
There's good and bad in both camps.  Smart and stupid.  Etc.
.
I don't understand why people try to lump in other stuff.  The previous quote is just something to make people think - if you have to do something for a god and not for the good of people, there could be a scary conundrum.

May be an image of text that says 'today i heard a kid say "i don't believe in that but i respect that you do" theni realized how a kid is more mature than half the people here'

I'd rather not lie to people though.

The plan is obviously to roll out the red carpet for the undocumented Democrats.

I think it best to avoid religion as a topic for comment, and to eliminate use of the "F" word here.

As I understand it, we go back to Title 8, which in effect means longer paperwork requirements.  This is why so many tried to get in before today the number of entrees COULD actually drop under Title 8.

I'll second that.

Would mind also curbing the politics in favor of policy. I know that's a fine line.

I made a decision to stop "cussing" a while back.  I figure if I can't make a point without using the "F" word every third word, I'm pretty incompetent.  It doesn't offend me, though in my view, it makes one's argument less impactful and more puerile.  As for religion, we all have our beliefs generally not based purely on logic, and thus is not really subject to argument.  I have zero desire to make light of another's religious beliefs (there could be an exception for the truly weird ones).  I don't think others should either, at least not here.  I don't think it possible to argue in print that one should or should not adhere to some major religion.  Usually, "we" adopt whatever religion was in proximity to our childhood and culture.  Often, a person rebels against that, as noted, and goes to the other extreme.  It's akin to the person who stopped smoking and started working out, they can get obnoxious, for no reason.

Anyway, in my view, the F and C words should not be written here.

Title 42 explained: What is it, why is it ending, what’s next? | The Hill

Democrats are basically in a bind here being pulled this way and that, resulting in some ineffective half measures pleasing no one, in my view.

I don't really care about the swearing, but I could do without the fucking politics.

Ooops, sorry.

I have no problems discussing politics as long as its an honest discussion and not a crap throwing contest

I really wish we would leave religion alone as its a very personal issue

as far as cussing is concerned as a Texan you would be cutting my vocabulary by 30% so Im not really for its complete absence

sometimes you just have to inform someone they are a fucking idiot and theres just not other words that will do
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.
