One could claim my posts here have "the hallmarks of Russian disinformation".  It's a vague claim that could be attached to nearly anything.  And I believe 51 former officials signed it.

The problem really was how the MSM ran with that letter uncritically.  It was simply an "opinion", one taken as gospel by many,

Well that is the point.  Throw some vague, ubiquitous BS claim out there and use that as an excuse to throw a blanket over coverage.

Heh, as I stated, about anything could have those "hallmarks", whatever they might be...

It was a vacuous claim at the time, taken uncritically by many as meaning it WAS Russian disinformation, which is not actually was what alleged.

And that was the entire point of the claim and was enough to have big tech sensor any and all stories related to the laptop prior to the election in an effort to help Biden win.

In other words ( knowing what we know factually about the laptop- it’s contents- and how very damaging it COULD have been to Biden),

it was a very effective, intentional disinformation campaign by the party, media and Big Tech. Exactly 847’s point.

I thought it "clever" in the sense the letter was arguably factual, even now, and taken uncritically by most of the media as being entirely truthful (which it was not in its implications).

A statement CAN be entirely true and contain "all the hallmarks", or entirely false and contain the same.

Sure, what exactly are the "hallmarks of Russian disinformation"?  As I note above, that could mean anything at all.  So, yes, it is "factual".

According to McMurphy’s report, the conference is mulling ending the requirement that Big Ten programs must schedule their non-conference games against Power 5 teams, instead allowing a whole new batch of possibilities to enter the mix.

“The Big Ten is ‘strongly considering’ removing its requirement for league teams to play a Power Five nonconference team, starting in 2024, sources told Action Network,” wrote McMurphy. “Big Ten teams also would be allowed to continue scheduling Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponents, sources said.”

Additionally, the decision would of course coincide with the addition of the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins to the Big Ten. McMurphy added some more context regarding the potential scheduling format of the conference, including that they’re expected to continue with a nine-game league schedule, “unless something crazy happens.”

“In 2024, the Big Ten grows to a 16-team league with the additions of USC and UCLA. Although the league’s scheduling format has not been officially determined, the Big Ten is expected to continue with a nine-game league schedule ‘unless something crazy happens,’ a source said,” reported McMurphy.

“If the change is made, Big Ten teams could still schedule games against Power Five non-conference opponents, but it would no longer be required.”

Hate it.

So much for the 12 team playoff improving OOC scheduling

I continue to view the "news media" as more for entertainment than "news", it's akin to ESPiN to me.

I think one can divine a reasonable notion of what's really happening by reading and considering a lot of different sources of information, bearing in mind it's basically all spin.
that's because you're one of the few smart people in this country. unfortunately far too many people in this country take whatever they see on mainstream news media as the gospel.

The Post thing was dumb, but for the most part lasted a day and did nothing but bring attention to the post.

The Twitter files … more noise than anything else (with some problematic reporting errors and omissions), but they did get to feed the whole woe is me narrative.
Ummmm what?...lulz....'scuse me....but what fantastical shitlib world do you live in brosef?

It was "former US intel" individuals who signed a letter suggesting it had "the hallmarks of Russian disinformation" ... a claim which arguably could be true.

Lmfao....it was so obviously NOT true and it was an obvious US intel propaganda op aimed directly at the American people....you know....the sort of thing that used to be illegal in this country....
