Eh. Fox has a history of putting feckless Ds on those shows.

Combs couldn't argue his way out of a paper bag. He was up there just to make the "liberal" side look bad.

They did the same thing with the show The Five, with Bob Beckel being their liberal punching bag who was just a joke.

It's not a real "debate" show if you basically have an adult arguing against the equivalent of a 12 year old.
Oh, I agree.  I just mean even Fox wasn't so brazen 20 years ago to just have a Sean Hannity show.  They managed to stick a feckless liberal across from him

My dad used to watch Hannity/Combs and the Mclaughlin Group and I hated both for this and another reason.

Way back in maybe the 2000 election they had Hannity interview the R and Combs interview the D. Both interviews were stupidly positive with literally no hard questions. The interviewer was basically a cheerleader.

Flip it, give me hard hitting Hannity vs D and Combs vs R interviews and I'll watch.

McGlaughlin illustrated my other issue. Their resident Democrat was Elanor Clift and I don't think she EVER disagreed with the DNC line. I much preferred Buchanan because he had his own thoughts and opinions. He was conservative but he didn't just blindly follow the RNC line. That was my bigger issue with Hannity/Combs, they were just R and D versions of Elanor Clift, blindly cheering on their assigned side.

Weekend Update: Jane, You Ignorant Slut - SNL - YouTube
I couldn't find a short and unedited version but one of my all-time favorites was Mick Jagger (playing Keith Richards) looking at Mike Meyers (playing Mick Jagger) and saying "Mick you ignorant slut".

May be an image of 2 people, hospital and text that says 'Nurse: Sir, you've been in a coma for one month. Me: Oh boy, I can't wait to watch Tucker tonight with an ice cold Bud Light THA SOUTHERN'

John Mulaney, a hilarious comedian, being dragged on social media, when his new special came out, because he "allowed" Dave Chappelle, the GOAT, to open for him a year ago.  Because Dave Chappelle, who spent his entire career intelligently poking fun of everyone, and apparently made fun of someone you aren't allowed to make fun of, is why comedy is dying.

Andrew Dice Clay sucked, because he punched down, without being smart.  If you do it well, like Chapelle, Rock, Pryor, Carlin, nothing should be off limits.  Instead we are being told awful comics, who don't offend anybody, are funny.  They aren't.  Offensive comics are also frequently unfunny.  But the best comics offend and challenge you, and I'm worried we are going to lose them

So, I can't find the original post, but my wife reluctantly pulled me into foster parenthood in early 2019. We've got two boys, and she wanted a third, I didn't, that was the compromise. I was worried it was a back door way to adopt a third, which I immediately told the agency it wasn't, she I think still wanted to. She's adopted herself.

In a crazy set of circumstances a baby was born in a toilet near the hospital, when the mother fled due to being high, a parole violation. We got a call. My wife visited her every day in the hospital because she was two months premature. But amazingly, she was healthy. No health problems, no signs of withdrawal from her user mom. She was just small.

We brought her home 2 weeks later, and she won me over. In a lot of ways our bond was closer than with my two biological sons. I was wrong, we wanted to adopt her. Her mother subsequently died of an OD, and father had a lengthy criminal history. They put up a non family member/friend, but there was no family option. We got a notice, after 6 months, that the state finally agreed with her guardian ad litem that the best thing for her was to move forward with adoption. The judge disagreed, and awarded immediate custody to the family friend. No transition period. We had 5 minutes to say goodbye.

We are handed over all of the clothes we bought her except her Christmas dress and the MSU cheerleader outfit she hadn't grown into yet.

Well, we had a little dude early COVID. We knew it was short term. His birth mom was clean but low functioning. So she just needed a support system. She got it. He was with us for about 6 weeks.

2 days after Christmas 2020 we got a third placement. This past Friday, after two and a half years, many court battles, the adoption was finalized.

We thought about changing her name, because we never would have chosen it on our own. But her name, Patience, kind of seemed appropriate.
