Did anyone here claim they were?

The opinion obviously relates to one's own leanings.  I know a person on FB who claims MSNBC is right wing, and a posted on A51 (now gone for some reason) claimed Fox News was left wing.

The "middle" is defined by the individual.
They obviously just mixed up their wings.

Among the many mediots that were bad for America, he ended up worse than most. Intent on building up bad will and a divided country for attention and fame.

Good riddance.
yeah, gonna have to agree to disagree with you on that big time. People like Maddow or Hannity who toe party establishment lines and push actual conspiracy theories (Russiagate! in Maddow's case or Obama is Kenyan and I'll pay for him to go home in Hannity's case) have done far more damage in dividing this country than Tucker could have ever dreamed of.

Not sure about the good riddance part.  He has an enormous and loyal following.

He was quite harsh and brutal for my taste. But there were a couple of things you could count on him for:

- he attacked  divisiveness in the government and media relentlessly
- he attacked both parties without fear
- he asked a lot of questions that needed to be asked, when nobody else would.
agreed. he refused to toe the establishment party line- often called out the establishment wing of republicans like Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney.

this is why he was fired- not to mention his private texts where he was bashing the fox news management and Murdoch himself. new revelations that came out today pretty much confirmed this, and it Rupert Murdoch who single handily pushed him out.

if a massive c*nt like Murdoch fired him because he didn't like him- Tucker is OK in my book.

A funny thing to me about France is how very educated people can be ultra liberal/socialist in views and concurrently extremely racist and intolerant of others.

Le Pen for example is a socialist.
It makes sense in many ways. Not necessarily "racism" per se, but intolerance of foreigners / immigrants.

Socialism doesn't really work at scale for many obvious reasons, but on a smaller scale (say, a commune where everyone is fully committed and you thus don't have a free-rider problem) can be handled. The small example of course being a family--kids can't contribute, and sometimes it's determined it's better for one parent to stay home and handle child care while the other goes out to earn. So one parent goes out to earn, the other handles the household duties (kids, school, activities), and the kids are mostly just provided for but as they get older, it becomes clear that they will have duties to help out (chores, etc) as their capabilities to perform them build.

The problem comes when someone is attracted to the "free" part but doesn't really care about the "work" part. In a true socialist system on a larger scale, the free rider problem eventually dooms the whole deal. (Often contributing are central planning, the lack of a market/price system to help determine allocation of resources and goods, etc -- which is why to a large extent most of Europe are social democracies, i.e. capitalist systems with a social safety net.)

In a place like France, where it's still more of a social democracy rather than socialist, where someone from "somewhere else" will come in and offer to work for wages that the French deem beneath themselves, because they don't believe they should be subject to such competition. They are seen as upsetting the natural order of things where you make a living wage for unskilled or low-skill work, and "they're taking our jobs." (Similar happens here of course.)

It's a VERY small logical leap to go from being angry or hating immigrants, to noticing that many of them share a similar color of skin or national origin, and hating all of that group.

They're racist because the [differently colored skin] immigrants are ruining their socialist ideals by competing

Not ONE story about Don Lemon.
Lemon was essentially a nobody. I think his shows got 100,000 views if that. Tucker's shows were getting 3 million.

I just think Tucker leaving was a much bigger story because he was the biggest thing on cable tv news. By a lot. The only one close to him was Maddow and she's no longer doing that show daily. I think she's on a couple times a month now.

I personally view Carlson as a schill who did whatever his staff put in front of him, and they knew what would play well with the viewers, else he would not get those ratings.  It's all about ratings in my view.  If they needed to misrepresent to get ratings, so be it.

Obviously, I have a very low opinion of the merits of that show.
you obviously don't watch his show if that's how you feel. segments on his show often ran counter to the establishment republican party narrative that Fox News pushes and has since it's inception. he was often in fights with his bosses in management at fox news over what he reported on- they often did not want him to do the segments that he did. he was the one and only Fox News anchor who flat out said Sidney Powell is a liar on air- when Fox News was pushing the stolen election bs- Tucker was ripping his bosses and the network behind the scenes in private texts- and we know this now because of the dominion law suit.

sounds like he was let go because of riffs with management and his trashing of Rupert Murdoch in private texts. Probably going to get fired when your boss finds out you trash him in private texts and he's then able to read all the texts....

he railed against the establishment. it's all about manufacturing consent....they have to discredit him in order to discredit the VERY valid points he has brought up on a wide range of topics on many of his segments...

Tucker was fired for doing pieces like this....show me one other cable tv news anchor actor who run segments like this...that is why he was fired. He was getting too popular and his anti-war, anti-establishment stances were too hot button for the management and owner of Fox (Murdoch).

BTW...70+% of news media's advertisers are....big pharma companies. The US remains one of only two countries in the developed world where drug companies are allowed to advertise. I believe New Zealand is the only other one.

I don't watch TC at all except occasional You Tube clips of it.  As I said, I personally view him as an opportunist, hypocrite, and liar.  But to each his own.

I disagree with him on A LOT of things...especially immigration.

But he runs segments that no one else in cable tv news will dare run. He'll invite people on that no one else in cable tv news dare will. He'll stand up for people that no one else in cable tv news will dare stand up for (Assange). He's got my respect for that and that alone.

Whether I disagree with him or not is irrelevant to me.  He's a liar in my book, someone who is deceptive and conniving and a hypocrite.  In other words, a rather typical TV personality.  He's not worth spit to me, I think he's far more damaging than helpful to anyone.

I hope he ends up on Newsmax or something equally uncredible and simply disappears.

Some good news, maybe, when we moved, I lost my flight bag and license and log book and two headsets, bummer.  Anyway, I found on the FAA site a way to get a new license and sent in the form, and $2, and today in the mail came my restored license.

Now all I'd need is a medical and about 8-10 hours of dual to be back in good stead.
