I have flown SW all but once in the past decade, and have only once had a problem.  Granted that problem was a 3:00 flight from Denver to Pittsburgh, when I was already losing two hours on a Sunday, getting pushed back to 10:00, and throwing an entire high school band with their instruments on the flight.  But, it's gone worse for people.

The one time I didn't, I flew Delta, then paid to move my flight up.  That flight was delayed by an hour, and they comped.me almost the amount I paid to move my flight up, and gave me access to their sky lounge.

I think SW is a flying bus.  It's the cheapest decent option, and as long as everything is smooth, the savings are well worth the lack of perks.  But as soon as anything goes wrong, don't expect them to care.

It's a bit striking to me, not shocking, how the Fox News Talking Heads appeared to know what they were spewing was nonsense, but did it anyway for ratings because they knew it's what their clientel wanted to hear.  I doubt that is unique to FN, but in this case it's pretty obvious.  I doubt viewers much care, and their web site has this short item about this case.
