The disparity between the time spent on this and it's actual importance is astronomical.  FFS

seems to me uninsured deposits does not in itself indicate risk to the depositor but rather the nature of the investments the bank makes with these funds

The bank I work for is not on that list- and would probably make a list of banks with the highest % of the deposits insured.

To a degree you are correct.  If you give a start up tech company a $100M loan that almost certainly means enormous deposits from that same company. If you cater to consumers and small to mid sized borrowers- the size of any one person or business deposits will be smaller, and therefore more likely under the insured umbrella.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

I've been using my work computer as my home system for a couple of years now, but I've been wanting to get something new for a while.  Meanwhile my i s c & a aggie wife's Aggie dad is finally replacing his 10-year-old system, so I used my work discount and got him something much more modern.

And that got me looking at new systems for me.

So 24 hours later, I am now the proud owner of a brand spanking new Dell XPS 15, which will arrive at my home no later than Monday.  I only buy myself a new system every now and then, so I went ahead and spec'd it out pretty well.  It has a Gen13/Raptor-Lake i9 CPU, 32G RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8G DDR6, 1 TB SSD.  It'll be a decent gaming system so my son is going to want to steal it from me, and I'm sure I'll let him use it some, but really it's for me to use for video editing plus all the basic run-the-household stuff like finances, calendars, email, etc.

Anyway, I'm a big nerd so I get excited about Tech stuff.

The Dell xps15 is a very good machine

The only reason I didnt go with it is no numeric key pad which to anyone else is no big deal but it is for me

Im sure you will be very happy with it
