I'm not sure why folks want to conjure up tone in other's posts, but it happens ALL the time

there is an obvious emphasis or loudness when typing in all caps

The whole reason emoticons first evolved in email/chat text conversations, was to help convey tone.  I still use "smilies" a lot.  But some folks don't like using them or think they're goofy.

Also seems like we have the AI to draw non-gerrymandered districts at this point.  The number of seats that are actually up for grabs is increasingly limited as both parties, when in power, seek to consolidate it by redrawing districts
AI can also gerrymander districts in such a way that a 60-40 statewide win for one side yields a Legislative supermajority for the side with 40.

AI (or any other computer software) is only as good as the person defining the inputs and constraints. Garbage in, garbage out.

I read an article stating that Gen Z was getting upset by older colleagues using the thumbs up emoji.

My wife wanted to go to Whole Foods, fine, we usually walk, but the weather is a bit inclement, so we drove, and parked (which is free with validation).  We have lunch at Farm Burger, which is pretty good, pick up a few items, and go to leave.  There is a line of four cars in front waiting to get out.  The lead car is trying to poke the ticket into the machine, but it is refusing it.  She pokes, pokes, pokes, gets out of car and pokes.

Now get this, the gate is open.  OPEN!  I beep my horn from way back in the line.  Finally she realizes the gate is up, I heard someone in the car behind say something like "The gate is up", so she departs.  Then the NEXT car tries to poke ticket into machine.  THE GATE IS UP!!!!!!!!!!

And then the third car does the same thing.  I just drive out when finally they all depart.

This sounds like when everyone pulls up to the gas pumps on the wrong side of their car at Costco.
