So, it took two sidewinder missiles at about $472,000 each to pop that balloon over Lake Huron.  Why don't they use their 20mm canon?

On ship headed to Abu Dabi
ARTICLE OF THE DAY:

Abu Dhabi
Located on the Persian Gulf, Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Its capital, also named Abu Dhabi, is the second largest city in the UAE and became the provisional capital when the UAE was formed in 1971. Oil was discovered there in the late 1960s, and the abundant oil revenues have since been used for the country's development and modernization. What was one of Abu Dhabi's major industries before it was eclipsed by oil?

Hmm, now there's a thing we can look at. The best I can pull is this recording of 3 hours outside the open roof stadium

They announce the NFL man of the year around 2:30:10. Eagles fans boo.

Some inspirational music.

Seconds later, they announce the ASL lady. Then they said "to perform 'Lift Every Voice and sing,' please welcome (Lady's name)." She immediately sings, with a choir and no flag to speak of.

Then some claps. Then nothing and start piping in the pregame show.

More than 14 minutes later, they play "America the Beautiful" and the national anthem. They announce a different ASL person. They say America the Beautiful celebrates our country.

Then they announce who is carrying the colors (marine band). Welcome another ASL person. Again say they'll honor America, call it the national anthem and say it's Chris Stapleton and he starts playing.

So they asked no one to stand at any point. Certianly not for a song that was announced after a ceremony and more than 10 minutes before the national anthem. Not presented as a national anthem, or close to the national anthem. No flag raised. Not even in the block of songs with the national anthem.

I'll leave that without more commentary.

As for the flyover, I'm surprised that they had the roof open at Cardinal Stadium. I think that's the first time I've ever seen that roof open during a game.
Been there a number of times with the roof open.  Once the hot weather breaks late nov or Dec they open the roof.

Nothing about any motives that I can tell from a quick search.

Training exercise or mothballs?
donation to Ukraine?

I'd like to know why they cost so much.
