Anything that large would show up on military radars in Alaska, and Montana.  We don't have some super secret unknown radar that would have been revealed.

The only issue could be the speed discriminator, but that is used for low altitude detection.

What we know about Chinese balloon sightings during Trump presidency | The Hill

Not much.  Was this thing sending telemetry back to China (via sat)???

China has claimed the balloon downed over the weekend is a weather balloon that was blown unwillingly into American airspace — a claim the U.S. says is refuted by the recovered aircraft wreckage.
“This was a PRC surveillance balloon. This surveillance balloon purposefully traversed the United States and Canada.  And we are confident it was seeking to monitor sensitive military sites,” a top defense official said Sunday.
“We have learned technical things about this balloon and its surveillance capabilities.  And I suspect if we are successful in recovering aspects of the debris, we will learn even more,” the official added.

I don't think this graphic shows the overall size increase.

27 years apart.  Pickups are extremely rare in Europe, worker types use vans.

Checkers vs chess, guys.
.
We knock it down before it enters our airspace, they cross it off the list and go to their next idea.
We wait and track it and knock it down when we feel like it, they spend more time on this waste-of-time idea.

Yeah, they're playing chess and we're playing tidily winks.

They got all of the data they wanted.

jfc you guys and your potted plant rhetoric.

It is precisely as stupid as the orange man rhetoric from the haters of the previous administration.

You are exactly who you proclaim yourselves not to be.

So mind-numbingly dull and stupid, this approach.
I couldn't agree more.  And although I do not care for JB at all, I recognize that he won the election, and some people will be happy with his performance, and some won't.

I've seen that graphic many times in the last few days, but what it doesn't tell you is that you can still buy a single cab 8' bed, or an extended cab 8' bed or a crew cab 6' bed. Most people don't because they like the short-short bed with 4 doors.  I've owned many of them and I find the 4 door 5.5' bed the best all around.

I have a double cab with a small back seat.  It's good for kids or golf clubs.
Adults can squeeze in if needed.

the bed is a bit longer, not sure of the length but it works well for me

A lot of trucks today are SUVs with an open bed, which is "OK" I think if it meets your needs.  We routinely have work trucks parked outside and they often are 2500s with a crew cab, and the bed is often packed with gear.  Maybe they tow stuff at times.

My wife says they are not popular in Europe because no one could leave anything open to the public without it being stolen.  So, they use vans.

A truck with a full frame is definitely not the same as an SUV.  There are SUV's built on truck frames, but most are not.

People are buying what suits them, why try sticking a label to it?
BTW I owned a white F-150 almost identical to the picture up above.  2012 model with the 3.5 EcoBoost, 4x4 crew cab with the 6.5' bed.  Truck was a beast.  Sold it at 90k miles, lots of mechanical issues.  But I liked the truck overall.  Now I drive a Ram and a Chevy, both crew cabs with 5.5' bed.

I should say some SUVs are like trucks with an enclosed bed.  I know what folks call an SUV now includes a lot of near minivan types.

My wife has given notice she wants a mini-SUV "soon" because of egress issues.  I said "Maybe in five years" hopefully, and she said "Sooner".

I'm not from Oklahoma though.
