You're just not seeing the big picture.  When Nicholas Cage plays Griner in the forthcoming film "Lord of Basketball" it will make much more sense.
Lol. Nic Cage is an awesome actor. I'd watch that.

You ever heard what Janis Joplin had to say about Beaumont? :)

Who knows what that slurred speech in perpetual drunken stupors said, but its probably negative and I'd probably agree with her.  Not a lot to like here, imo, other than the state of Texas offers some perks no matter where you are in it.

There's a SETX rock museum that is super proud of her, even if she's not proud of here.

Train to nowhere: can California’s high-speed rail project ever get back on track? | California | The Guardian
nope. cause California sucks. Florida has high speed rail. Florida is better than California. :)

The connection from West Palm to Orlando is almost complete, supposedly will hit average of 125+ MPH on that stretch, next phase will be Orlando to Tampa. SUCK it California.

If they can electrify the other existing lines north and south, the should be able to run trains connecting SF and LA at normal rates, 79 mph, likely somewhat faster on the new portions built for true high speed.  I doubt this attracts much traffic, but it would be something of a something.  Mebbe.

I’ve lived in Texas my whole life and I think what areas you consider what largely depend on where you live and your experiences. For myself, we would never call our area East Texas. Because East Texas has pine trees and hills. I’m in SE Texas. Which is mostly flatlands and coastal prairies.

I'd like to see a loop from Tampa to West Palm after that one is done. They could go right down the center of Route 80 for most of the stretch from Ft. Myers to West Palm and use I-75 from Tampa to Fort Myers. Minimal right of way costs.

I have a notion that autonomous private vehicles will make HSR irrelevant.

Well, if I could get from Austin to Dallas in 45 minutes instead of 3 hours, I'd see some value in that.  It would obviously depend on the cost of the HSR passage, though.
