Eh, it's just a practice gig. I'm not married to it.
It's actually kind of cool to have a job that you don't care about losing, because you get to try things that you normally wouldn't. Like for example the head my department was some guy that lives and works in a different city entirely. The first time I ever talked to him was when he conducted my performance review. Not only was it a scathing review, but it didn't even make any sense. I thought I must have gotten someone else's, because he literally could have printed out a generic bad review from the internet and it would have been more accurate.
So the next day I found out that he wrote up the review while he was still butt hurt over some incident that took place the previous Friday. Well I had taken that day off, so I wasn't even working. Yet not only was I getting blamed for it, but my entire performance review was centered around it.
Now I would normally just take something like that lying down. Like Cincydawg says, "keep your head down, stay busy, and try not to make any waves." But it's just a practice job, so I reported his ass and ran it up the corporate ladder, just to see what would happen. He's pretty high up, so I figured they'd let me go in order to protect him. Instead, they shuffled the deck so that I would have all subsequent performance reviews done by a manager that lives and works here. They also implemented a policy that prevents any employee from having their performance reviewed by a manager that lives and works in a different city, and the manager that did it got his performance review privileges revoked.
Of course it wasn't fun. It was like two weeks of nonstop corporate drama in order to get it resolved. I wouldn't want to go through anything like that again unless there was no other choice. But it was interesting to see what would happen nonetheless.
