A lot of things SHOULD be in life, and aren't.

I can't imagine why sportswriters would care about TV ratings, of why TV ratings would be higher for 1v2 anyway.  But I suppose it's possible there was a conspiracy.
Don't be that person.  Just throwing 'conspiracy' out as a way to ignore the point.
I specifically said that enough of them put Tennessee #2 that they're officially #2 now.  Not that they communicated doing so or planned it out.
1 v 2 matchups are focused on WAY more than 1 v 3, both at the time and even more so as time passes.  They keep aggregate stats on 1 v2 matchups, but not 1 v3.
Writers care about overall clicks and eyeballs.....the fact I even have to type that is crazy.  You know this, right?  You must.

And of course, aside from luxuries, wealthy folks are going to have access to better education, better personal safety, better access to Power, etc. etc. than poor people.

Even in France, this is true, and even there it's true for health care as well.
As a teacher, I can assure you that the quality of education is almost (ALMOST) entirely a question of the family making it a priority.  You can do that whether you're poor or rich.
Safety and power?? are things we try to make uniform (more police in poor neighborhoods), but can't seem to fix.  The attempts are made, though.
.
We don't even pretend to try to ensure equal health care or legal fairness.  It's gross.

Half the dollars spent on health care in the US are spent by government.  To claim we don't try to "ensure" equal health care is simply false.  No country in the world has "equal health care", it's a chimera.  Some have better overall health care for everyone, but even in the US there is Medicaid and Medicare.

And government provides you with an attorney if you cannot afford one.

As for writers, I think it entirely reasonable that they saw the UK result and pushed Tenn ahead of OSU, rationally, with no intent of anything else.  Some thought they merited No. 1 votes.  Fair enough.

I consider it to be one of the fun quirks of the system we have.

Fans largely forgot computer rankings once the BCS was gone.  I have to look for them if I want to see them.  But the AP poll is similarly pointless today, but we have nothing else until tomorrow.

Humans like lists.

I figured at this point they'd play it out, but maybe players leaving would get too serious.  Put in an interim and have normal normalcy.

Auburn would need to improve to get to mediocre.
