I really wasn't sure if he was dead, but I was surprised to see that he was not (until yesterday).

Definitely, it's been on my list forever.

Live Oak does entirely European styles, so they always identify the style by its place of origin.
We should make a road trip to ensure they are doing just that .Of course we could always sample ALL of their efforts as good ambassadors should

Oh yeah, in that case, sure!  They'll have the Primus Weizenbock out from December through Febraury, that's a very special beer.

Late December and early January in Italy can have fantastic weather.

It can also be super damp and dreary, like it was in Bologna.

Depends on where in Italy.  Also depends on your definition of "fantastic" because for me anything below about 65 doesn't qualify.

I once spent an entire spring in France and that was some crappy dreary drizzly weather.  When I left in late May, there'd finally been a handful of days of what I'd consider nice spring weather, but they were few and far between.

chairman of Russia's oil giant Lukoil Ravil Maganov has died after falling from a window in a Moscow hospital, Russian state media reported.

Maganov, 67, committed suicide, state-run agency TASS reported citing unnamed law enforcement sources.

"He was [getting treated] in the hospital after a heart attack. In addition, he was taking antidepressants," TASS reported Thursday.

Lukoil later confirmed his death but said Maganov "passed away after a serious illness."

This is the sixth incident involving high-profile Russian energy executives dying under murky circumstances this year.

In May, Russian outlets reported that Lukoil's former top executive and board member Alexander Subbotin died after receiving dubious treatment from a "shaman" that involved an infusion of poison from a toad.

In April, two former high-ranking managers of Novatek, Russia's second-largest natural gas producer, and Gazprombank, a large bank linked to a Gazprom gas corporation, were found dead along with their family members. State media reported that they killed their spouses and children and then committed suicide.

Artemis is scrubbed for today.  And the press keeps repeating the mantra "NASA's largest rocket ever", which is a lie.  Yes, it does have more thrust at launch, but it is not as capable as the Saturn V, which could put almost 50 tons into lunar orbit.  SLS Block 1 can only throw about 30 tons into LO.
NASA’s small experiment to produce oxygen on Mars managed to generate about 100 minutes’ worth of breathable oxygen in 2021. Now it is set to be scaled up to support future human exploration.

The Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE) is a small oxygen-generating device that landed on the Red Planet atop the Perseverance rover in February 2021.

Over the course of seven hour-long production runs during that year, MOXIE was able to reliably produce roughly 15 minutes of oxygen per hour in a variety of harsh planetary conditions. That added up to a total of 50 grams of oxygen in total – about 100 minutes’ worth of breathable oxygen for a single astronaut.

“At the highest level, this is just a brilliant success,” says Michael Hecht at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Haystack Observatory, who co-leads the MOXIE experiment.

Yeah I spent about a week in Paris in April, it was cold, rainy, and miserable.

June was much nicer.
