Yes, it would take energy, but ground energy, not energy you had to use energy to lift.  The Saturn V first stage burned 15 tons of fuel per second, most of which was needed to accelerate the fuel.
Sounds like my old Jeep!

It's playing on the jukebox almost constantly throughout the day.  I'll go and drop ten dollars into that thing just to choose songs that are NOT that song.

Now that I think about it, it's probably intentional and that's their angle.  Scheming bastages.

coin collector – the exact elements you need to look for to find a ‘double die’ Lincoln penny worth $1,000s

https://www.the-sun.com/money/5840527/double-die-penny-lincoln-elements/

I imagine at least one of Ya'll know something about coins and their worth.

With the market down is this a time when coins would have better value?

I've got a few old silver dollars (1922) and other coins laying around the house and in the safe deposit box.
I'm not a collector and my daughters have no interest.

I was thinking about selling them.

You also tend to collect bad ideas.
But I agree with your point about never selling a collection - people who do it for the value are missing out on the fun.

I had an old coin collection my dad and I put together decades back.  I sold off most of it before we moved, it was just too heavy to deal with.  I used the money to buy silver Eagles, much more compact.  Most of the collection was really with no value at all.  I had a lot of proof sets that I dumped all but one.  The 1964 proof set has a bit of value.

I use to find a lot of old coins when we'd visit my grandparents in the country and kept the 40% silver items.

no one in my family was a coin "collector"

apparently back in the day it was customary to gift a newborn or a first birthday with a silver dollar

other coins may or may not be "valuable".

40% silver coins, wheat tail pennies, 2 dollar bills, susan B Anthony dollars, misc.

I just don't see a point in holding onto them when my daughters will just liquidate them when I'm gone.  It will be more of a burden for them.

I suppose I could use some of them as ball markers on the golf course
