Yeah, a lot has been written about Lee's decision of course (including my Book Two).  I lean to thinking Lee wanted it all to be over and didn't want to shift about waiting for Meade to get around to attacking him.  Meade has just assumed that position as head of the A of the P, and could be presumed to be cautious in movement and offensive action.  The artillery barrage may have been thought to harm the Union lines enough that a sharp attack in the middle would breakthrough and isolate two halves of the Union army.

I wonder what would have happened had Lincoln let the South go, NC and VA had not seceded at that point.

Good job, I would not have recalled that and thought it was a "movie plane".

NASA's Artemis mission — which will ultimately return humans to the moon's surface for the first time in 50 years, including the first woman and person of color to set foot there — could launch as soon as late August, agency officials said in a news briefing on Wednesday (July 20).

The first phase of the mission, dubbed Artemis-1, will see NASA's massive new Space Launch System (SLS) launch on a four-to-six-week-long trip around the far side of the moon and back. NASA has eyed Aug. 29, Sept. 2 or Sept. 5 as the earliest possible launch dates for the mission, NASA associate administrator Jim Free told reporters.

How do folks feel about this?  Just curious.  This was one of Trump's very specific, very personal, directives. Nobody else has given a shit about a moon landing in about 5 decades...

If you like that, then you should try this-- it's the best Belgian-style witbier on the planet (yes, better than Hoegaarden which was the original inspiration for the modern version of the style).
