Probably not, but recalls of governors are rather rare.  I also note that it's somewhat duplicative for a Democratic governor of CA to run for President in that CA is going Dem anyway.  They'd be better off hailing from Texas or Ohio or even Georgia if they are reasonably popular at home.

I think he's looking at a run, depending, and will become more visible on "issues" like this one over the next couple of years.  He might even be seen doing his own laundry somewhere not French.

Considering his recent attacks on Ron from Florida and Kristi from SD, I'd say he's got the higher office in mind.

Our country is definitely stupid enough to vote for him, unfortunately.

I have not liked any nominee for President in a long long time.  I doubt I'd like Newsom or whoever the republicans nominate.

I'm old and crotchety.

I don't even know which party is associated with blue, and which with red.  To me, that's all just part of the bullshit identity politics that are damaging our country.

The color pattern switched ca. 1990 because "red" is associated with communism and back then Democrats were coded red.  Now they are blue.

My own color would be something like chartruese, mostly because I don't know what color that really is, I think it may be greenish.

But it may be purplish.

I'd guess I would be somewhat close to libertarians if they didn't all seem to be insane.

Limited government is my thing. Go through the below list of agencies. Tell me which ones are needed. It will take a month, but I'm patient.

Taxpayer Advocacy Panel | USAGov

I chuckled.

In my opinion, politicians see a problem, or note that voters see a problem, and then create a board or agency or department ostensibly to deal with the problem and consider it solved even if the thing created does little useful.

It also affords patronage on a vast scale.

Has a governor who faced a recall ever been elected POTUS?

He got 60% support in favor of retention in a state where #46 got almost 64%.
The answer to the first question is no, but that's in part because almost no recall elections happen. Only 19 states even allow them. Per an article produced by Big Ten member Rutgers, only four have even faced recalls. Combine that with the fact only 17 elected governors have been elected POTUS, and it's all a somewhat narrow path.

I assume he has the ambition to try. He's always been an extremely ambitious one. I assume he'll try and get cut down somewhere in the process, a story that is for the most part mundane.
