it's only a hot button when those prices are rising

if they'd level off for a couple weeks the story would fizzle
disagree. it'll be a the biggest hot button topic for your average person until it goes down to under $3/gal.

Democrats seem unable now to pass much relevant legislation, I doubt Republicans would do much more.  Stalemate.  I'm aware of a gun control kind of bill that could pass the Senate, maybe, the details are being haggled now.  I really don't know what a Republican Congress could get passed and signed that would matter much to the economy.

If we hit a full bore recession, I could see more "stimulus bills" being passed no matter who is in control.  Deficit spending, yay.

it's not just her, it's all the other geriatric f**ks like her who for some god damn reason refuse to f***king die like Mitch McConnell, Biden, Diane Feinstein, Maxine Waters, Chuck Grassley, and all these other host of dumb old f**king shitbags who won't just f**king die already.

US needs to put age limits in place for office. Can't run for office in the House, Senate, or President after 65. Would be a great way to start actually getting sh*t done and things to change.

Atlanta, Georgia gets 51.5 inches of rain, on average, per year. Seattle, Washington gets 38 inches of rain, on average, per year. The US average is 38.1 inches of rain per year. Atlanta averages 1.4 inches of snow per year.

Fed raises rates by 75 basis points. Highest single hike since 1994. Before the recent rate hikes, during the previous two years- your mortgage payment on a 30 year fixed for an $800k property would be equal to that of a payment on a $500k property today.

This will no doubt cool down the housing market. Some markets will still remain hot however. Florida will as people keep moving there in droves, but especially people with money. Texas for example should as well- Wall Street private equity groups like BlackStone and BlackRock bought 1/3rd of all single family homes sold in that state in 2021. BY FAR the highest of any state in the country, I don't think any other state was above 15%. And those vultures pay all cash, close fast, and tend to drive prices up. For some reason though, Texas still seems to have affordable housing in comparison to the other juggernaut states (GDP's of $1+ trillion) like California, Florida, and New York. Not too familiar with the state of Texas or why that is, but it's kinda cool.

Millennials have endured nothing but f**kery when it comes to the economy. 2008 crash- which was a depression- and the greatest destruction of world wealth in history, then the COVID pandemic and the cratering of the world economy and supply chains. And now with Fed hiking rates and saying they'll probably hike 'em again- there is no doubt there will be a recession soon.

If there has ever been a generation f**ked over more, I'd sure love to see it.

How the Federal Reserve Could Create a Deep Recession and Deflation - 19FortyFive
Biden admin doing a bang up job of trying to create a recession on their own with their sanctions on Russia and continued flows of money to Ukraine to fight a proxy war and try to "punish those bad guys, Russia!". The hypocrisy and stupidity is so astounding it makes me want to f**king vomit.

Russia is the worlds #1 exporter of natural gas, #1 exporter of fertilizer, #1 exporter of wheat, and #2 exporter of oil. Yeah, let's just try to erase those exports from the entire US/UK/EU economies. That'll totally go over well.
