Yellowstone seems to have plenty of water

unfortunately for Arizona, the water from Montana comes down the Mizzouri river into the mississippi

Moving the HQ only helps the shareholders and the CEO who made the big, bold decision. Employees have to move at their own expense or be fired.

All that growth in the SW is going to come to a screeching halt soon for lack of water. And they're not getting it from the Columbia, Upper Mississippi, or Great Lakes basins.
The 250 people in Cat's HQ have all been offered to move, at company expense. The decision is theirs.

My mistake. That seems unusually generous for modern corporate America.

Moving assistance is pretty standard in my experience in larger companies, even many smaller ones.  It's not a huge expense.  My step son in law just moved from France to San Diego, he's a mid level kind of guy, got a very generous package to move.

At one point I was offered a transfer to Germany, but I couldn't take it because of my kids, but the package was very generous.  Three year assignment.

I didn't have to take that one of course.  I understood from others that anyone could go to Beijing, and a few did, they were really straining for folks to go for some reason.

I guess they are a valued team.

One of my friends is a VP there, which is how I know this.

Biden doesn't seem to understand gasoline pricing.  Refiners don't set it, the market does.  When it's in short supply, the price will go up as more bidders compete for it.

That Caterpillar thing is probably rough on the folks who want to stay in state, but such is life. Dallas is a nice area by and large (has its congestion issues, and I’m sure other things like every place).

Probably an annoyance for any folks who had to move when they last changed HQs within the past five years.

It can be rough on single parents who have a shared agreement with the ex, obviously, as well as others.  I was pretty lucky, though I had one job offer in south Georgia I probably would have taken if I could have moved with my kids.

Cosmologists find new evidence our universe has an antimatter twin (inverse.com)

We can create matter particles in the lab, but when we do, we also create antimatter particles. They always come in pairs. So when particles formed in the early universe, where did all their antimatter siblings go?

One idea was that the universe itself formed as a pair. Our matter universe and a similar antimatter universe. Problem solved. The idea fell out of favor for various reasons, but this new study looks at how it might solve the Hubble problem.
