The president is responsible for gas prices if you don't like him, he's not if you don't.  Yawn.
Aren't you guys supposed to gain wisdom with age?

In a letter to Biden dated November 4, Ohio General Assembly Bob Latta, a Republican, and 12 other lawmakers urged the president to keep the line running as closing it would only further encourage rising energy bills.

The average price of gas hit a three-year low in April of 2020 at just $1.74 a gallon with many people along the First Coast reporting prices closer to $1

You really don't understand how this free enterprise thing works do you ? So regale for us "you guys" more where do you find all of your wonderful wisdom? When the asshole blocks how many avenues for those companies to produce revenue & oil.Ya know the guys who procure, pump, refine & move the stuff.Did "you guys" think they were just going to take those loses sitting down? Two years ago there was a 2 week period that gas here was 1.27 .Trump though an asshole also has some insight into how to run a business and didn't f*** with perfectly well run corporations

So convenient.

Of course, I don't "like" any of them, but that's not as important as liking policies.

When the economy shuts down, as it did during COVID, demand obviously drops hard, and so do prices.  It's a rough way to get cheap gas obviously.

When the economy heats up, as it did post COVID, demand rises faster than supply, in general, and we're seeing near record high oil prices globally, not just here in the US.

The actions by a President can influence pricing some, but the larger increases are due to increased demand outstripping supply.  US oil production should be at record levels next year unless we hit a recession in the interim, and prices would still be quite high.

Just in general, I think "we" credit and blame Presidents for what happens which often is largely out of their control.  The Fed, in my view, has more influence over the economy except for decisions like going to war etc.

Brandon's or should I say his handlers policies weren't out of their control. And I'm certainly not trying to make Big Oil a victim - they've taken their 30 pieces of silver

A recession will drop oil prices, as usual, just as high oil prices tend to cause recessions.

How much did Slopppy Joe's editing caused problems for big Oil & NG companies.Quite a bit so they fought back the way they always do sticking it to the common folks to get even. I or anybody else have no illusions that those conglomerates are honorably run. Problem is Slopppy Joe or his son Caligula will never take it on the chin like the rest of us

OPEC+ has far more control over oil prices than Big Oil, they are HUGE Oil, and have spare production capacity at their whim.

I see Joe is going to Pariah Saudia Arabia to plead for more production.  It's well known that middle eastern oil causes no climate damage.

Yes, the response to the ScamDemic did drive down demand which did cause the price of fuel to drop. However, coming back from the shutdowns should not have caused the price of fuel to more than double. Gas prices before the ScamDemic were in the $2.30 range. They are now over $5.00. You explanation does not explain that. Bidens need to pander to the far left and bascially declare war on fossil fuels is driving these prices. To suggest otherwise is to ignore reality.

yeah, no shit. which is what I've been saying forever and a day on this board.

And who largely controls OPEC? The Saudis. They are the KING SHIT of OPEC and of the entire world of oil really.

Which is why a President who can get them to play ball when it comes to oil production/pricing and get them to agree to do what he wants when he wants....is a HUGE F'ING DEAL. Trump got the Saudis to ramp production in 2018, end their price war with Russia, and to also cut back on production in 2020. Last guy had the Saudis wrapped around his little finger. This moron started off on the campaign trail attacking the Saudis and it's leader MbS- and MbS hasn't forgotten- he's made Biden admin pay the price for popping off at the mouth like the senile old retard he is- and in turn he's made the entire US pay the price.

Elections have consequences.

He could more easily pull back his policies that are causing the US producers to curtail their production but that would get him in trouble with the far left.
