So the problem with their messaging was just that set of hearings? That it happened at all?
Its not the only problem just an example

Nobody condones what happened on Jan 6th but to suggest it was an insurrection is totally ridiculous

The American public is not fooled by this

The dems are desperate and are down to their last card

November 8th will be cleaning day

I suppose I'm a pessimist.  I don't think a new Congress can do much if anything to help the economy.

None of that would impact inflation, at all.
not exactly true.

A Congress that would've set it's foot down and chopped the balls off of the Biden administration in that administrations' INSANE pursuit to meddle in Ukraine- which let's face it- a country that has been a virtual US colony since the Obama administration implemented a coup in 2014 that unconstitutionally overthrew a democratically elected gov't- and their DELUSIONAL to think they could prop up a corrupt shitbag country and "fight the bad guys, Russia!" and then decide to try to use stupid ass sanctions to economically nuke one of THE most important countries to the world economy and not have it back fire....HILARIOUS. Predictable what is happening now, and that charade is unraveling in Ukraine. Ukraine is getting it's ass f***king kicked in by Russia and it has no shot and never had any shot to stop Russia. Ukraine is literally just going to continue to get destroyed and the Eastern parts are going to get swallowed up by Russia...meanwhile the US/EU economies are in disarray and dealing with record levels of inflation due to their shortsightedness, insanity, and downright insane levels of stupidity and hypocrisy.

BUT....the Repubtards were/are just as gung ho on War in Ukraine and "fighting the bad guys Russia!" as the ShitLibs.

this is probably the truest thing you said. why? both parties are virtually the same- and both parties essentially do nothing.

the sitting politicians in power - Biden and the Dem controlled house and senate would LOVE to fix the economy as quickly as possible

they all know folks vote with their wallets and a bad economy with inflation will cause them to lose power in the next election

they have motivation, they're just not able to do much about it.  At least in the short term.

So the problem with their messaging was just that set of hearings? That it happened at all?
Washington Post congressional reporter Marianna Sotomayor said Sunday during ABC's "This Week" that it could be too late for Democrats on the economy as the midterms approach.

"In the beginning a lot of Democrats were saying, hey look, the economy, it's doing great, it's the best in, you know record number of years. And people weren't feeling that. People were saying why are you telling me its good when all of these prices are going up?" she mused.

"So you are starting to see Democrats shift the messaging a little bit to talk more about and have that empathy but whether that it is a little too late. But it could be a little too late for a lot of these people that are saying we need help now," she continued.

inflation was already a huge problem.....and the US state dept and the Biden administrations complete and utter lack of even making the slightest attempt at diplomacy or making any kind of gesture to take the concerns Russia had with Ukraine/NATO seriously and the Biden administration and Congresses war mongering to "fight the bad guys!" and then their insane economic warfare on Russia....laughingly and predictably backfired. All they did is take inflation which was already a problem....throw gasoline on that fire and take it from maybe a level 6 problem on a scale of 1 to 10 and take it to like level 11.

Russia is the largest exporter of natural gas, wheat (BY FAR the single most important food crop in the world), and fertilizer (you know, that pesky stuff we use to grow FOOD) in the entire world. They are the 2nd largest exporter of crude oil in the world. You know, ACTUAL useful commodities (unlike most of the BULLSH*T services the US produces/exports) that the ENTIRE f***king world needs to you know, LIVE. But yeah, let's just try to erase them from the world economy....that'll go over well.

I mean, that doesn’t feel like it matters. It feels like horse race fluff. Media filler.

The economy is in a bad way. There’s no messaging out of that one.

nope but would it be better for the dems to have a message that says

Yes the economy has several problems and here are our plans to address them

rather then to ignore it and have wall to wall coverage over Jan 6th or Mathew McConaughey talking about gun laws

now dont get me wrong these are viable subjects but not the ones that Americans care about

I'm going to spell this out real clear for you.... F**K UKRAINE.

I literally do NOT give a flying f**king rats ass about Ukraine. I care about one country and it's people. The United States of America. That's it. And those people are getting CRUSHED with insane fuel, energy, and food prices thanks to inflation.
