What would a Republican controlled Congress change about any of that?

They would stop pushing a green agenda

They would help keep Brandon hog tied until the cavalry arrives in 2024

They Jan 6th crap will either stop or become fair with all info coming out

There will be no court packing

The blank check for Ukraine would stop

The WHO would not call the shots in the US

Gun confiscation efforts would stop

Better southern border control over illegal alien entering country

might even impeach Brandon for various unconstitutional actions concerning illegal immigrants

I don't think changing Congress will change much of anything.  Both relevant bills passed with significant bipartisan agreement.

I can't think what else Congress has done that would be damaging to the economy, and those two bills above are just a part of the landscape anyway.
Everything I know from my graduate and undergraduate degrees, and 35 years in the world of Finance- would be out the window if your post here had a hint of accuracy to it.  🙈

It's messaging too guys. It has not been good.
The more I look at this, the less I think messaging totally matters.

For a message to hit, an audience has to be some degree of receptive. And in our modern political landscape, there will always be someone peddling a more downcast message for their own benefit.

even if you had perfect messaging (which they do not), someone will always be counter messaging with something that opponents are a lot more receptive to: “they guy you already don’t like is a dunce.”

On the other thing being discussed. Maybe our economics are not an amalgamation of factors that rely on business acumen, innovation and market forces, and instead are primarily a reflection of one party’s seat in power. I guess that’s what it is, which would mean no economic discussion at all in a more politics free environment.

None of that would impact inflation, at all.

nope this will only happen when a Rep Pres is installed in 2024 but the new congress might help keep Brandon from making it worse

I don't think changing Congress is going to accomplish much in terms of the economy.  That's an opinion obviously.  And I don't think what Congress has done to date has had much to do with inflation, other than the stimulus bill (which Trump wanted also).

I think it will mean more "hearings" and investigations, just about different topics.

as time passes the dems messaging gets more and more distant from reality

we had wall to wall coverage the other night of the Jan 6th hearing

The American public was not fooled

Here we sit ass deep in problems and all the dems can come up with is a plan to keep Trump from running in 2024

Its like the message was let em eat cake

The average American doesnt care a wit about what happened a year and a half ago

What they care about is fuel prices and being able to feed their family

the dems have lost their minds

There were MAJOR differences in what the Parties wanted in the stimulus bill.  Trillions on pork -and major differences on how to spend it.  Major differences who should benefit from Covid relief, and how much.  Trillions spent there. Huge differences on Congress treatment of lockdowns and the effects it has had on supply chain- arguably the second leading cause of inflation. First of course is energy policy- and if I have to explain the screw ups there that lead us to here- then the head in the sand syndrome is too strong to bother.  And there is more..

What has Congress done about energy policy over the past term?

Whatever the impact of the Stimulus bill was and is, it's not really reversible, it's done.

So the problem with their messaging was just that set of hearings? That it happened at all?

The damage to our energy output was not done by congress

Its all caused by Brandon and all the agencies under his control plus the fact that his foreign policy abilities are so bad Saudi Arabia wont even take his calls

The act of changing congress has many other benefits which Ive already mentioned

I suppose I'm a pessimist.  I don't think a new Congress can do much if anything to help the economy.
