Being able to carry a tune and hit notes is 95 percent of singing. Geddy could do both.

Voice tone is a matter of taste, and Geddy is not for everyone.

I acknowledge the talent of someone like Celine Dion. Her tone makes my skin crawl. Same with Whitney.
not a fan of either and if i ever hear that swarmy, dreadful, caterwauling theme from TITANIC again I'm gonna keel-hull the slappie who played it

beauty is in the ear of the beholder

I'll be listening to old Bon Scott AC/DC on the golf course today!

Brian Johnson can suck it
Well he's still alive so he has that going for him.
When the kids were little did you serenade them to sleep playing AC-DC or Young or Rush?

There is some "planning" (dreaming) about freeway capping parks hereabouts, and I'm sure elsewhere as well.

Momentum Building for HUB404 – SaportaReport

I like the idea a lot, but the price tags start with a B based on some projections, and I think that means little will actually happen.  One can do a lot with a B locally, a third of that could go to the airport to extend the Plane Train 700 feet for example and save 18 seconds.

I think a more modest proposal might happen in some spots, the Fifth Street bridge here was "widened" to make a semi-park etc.  Small green spaces in an urban area add up to a lot in my opinion.

Was strolling about today and thought this photo is sort of "my world" in the 'hood.

I took a number of photos of various construction sites near us, all going like crazy, and more new ones about to start, possibly just in time for a recession.

We get to see weather moving in at times, it's sort of neat I think.  We get tornadoes here on occasion, in four years we have not had to vacate to the basement, yet.

Treasury Secretary says we're not gonna have one.

Of course she also said inflation was temporary.

So I guess we're gonna have a recession?

The recession is so widely predicted I'm beginning to think we might skirt it, using the technical definition.  I can't quite get there yet of course, but it's a thought.  I think the Fed was too late with the brakes, and now will have to brake much harder than if they started last year when the economy was clearly starting to boom.  I've noted before how travel seems to be booming more than normal.

I look at the market almost daily.  Basically, it's my "job" to the extent I have one now.

The widely accepted definition of a recession is not based on the stock market of course.  It's dropping because of the Fed, which is a bit odd because it seemed pretty obvious what the Fed would do well ahead of time.  I did a fair bit of selling in January, wish I had done more, but what I kept is in my "long term" basket.

the S&P is down significantly from the all time high around the first of the year

it's about where is was back in march of 2021 when it was on it's way up

I'm glad I haven't been pulling money out since the first of the year

youre right the market is dropping because the Fed is going to continue to raise int rates because why

can we say inflation

I knew you could

food shortages, gas prices and several other things Brandon has no idea how to fix or even try

The market wont turn around until we solve these problems
