I believe both political parties thrive on dissension and controversy instead of compromise and common sense.  They benefit when "we" are angry and aroused.
IMHO the Politicians and Corporations wanted either your vote or business. And could actually get shamed and maybe prosecuted for lying/stealing/manipulating depending on the legislation or transaction. Now they cleary DGAF as long as they either cover or pay off one another as we've been squeezed out. When has either been prosecuted for immoral, unlawful behavior? For instance the oil men manipulating the market.Democrats opening the border w/o the wellfare of the citizens and the economy considered selling their souls for votes as the so called head of Homeland Security ignored both. He should be shot in ass with rock salt .The Republicans passing all sorts of laws/legislation for the big boys as they get a reach around with fistful of dollars. The Confederacy had the right idea "F" the Federal Gov't only 160 yrs to early and for the wrong reason. The Gov't/Supreme court is fiddling while Rome burns

I've posted before some compromise positions "they" could adopt, but don't want to.  Set the minimum wage at its all time high point adjusted for inflation and add a COLA, the issue is over.  But it wouldn't satisfy everyone of course.

Let folks here illegally become "legal" with a special kind of green card if they have followed the law and repay any missing taxes, but they can never become citizens.  If they are convicted of a felony, they are ejected.

Review our global defense commitments and set the defense budget aligned with whatever is left.

Of the "major rivalries", I think Alabama-Tennessee has been the most one sided.

If you go back 1 further season, Tennessee has the same record vs Florida as it has against Alabama (1-15).
And technically, if you go back the season before that, UT's record is worse vs the Gators, as Bama forfeited their 6-3 win over the Vols due to cheating.

A couple of good seasons mixed in along the way, largely at OSU's expense. The Vols also beat OSU in some bowl game at some point, shortly before the slide. Texas beat OSU a few times too, but they are rather flaccid these days as well. All three have been hilariously bad for the past several seasons.

I think that the Gators lost to an FCS team last year, for example. Or damn near. And (probably) the Wolverines in the not too distant past, which is almost as bad, or possibly much worse than losing to an FCS team.

Oh wait...

They fell for Brexit.

My British friends love it. They did not love being bossed around by some cream puff in Brussels, that's for sure. That said...
