MDot, I don't give an ounce of a shit about the man's politics. Just amused by the elite worship.
Not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’m typically one that likes to trash elites, because well…they typically deserve it.

Have to give credit where credit is due. Elon Musk is one of the most important human beings ever to live. Dude is legitimate genius. That term gets thrown around way too much, undeservedly so. I believe firmly that pretty much everyone is born equal. Very select few however are just flat out better and smarter than everyone else. Elon Musk is one of those rare people who just happens to be better than every one else. Jeff Bezos isn’t. Bill Gates isn’t. Steve Jobs wasn’t. Driven people. Gigantic assholes and cutthroat  businessmen, sure. But that’s about where it ends. Musk is so far out ahead and on another level than any of them that he makes them look like chimps.

no problem with free speech on the right

its the left thats scared to death over this
We've literally discussed the socialization of a social media company because of actions that are utterly protected by the first amendment. We've discussed legal campaigns aimed at stamping out ideas because we find them grotesque. We've had people explain that using the threat of legal action to chill speech is hunky dory.

People want the government to step in and do something about speech they don't like, instead of pursuing readily available market solutions.

Ahh, so most elites are bad, save for the ones worthy of worship. Got it. Over and out.

Off the meds?Ya out did yourself this time, get back to me when Mr Most Important(MMI) can make a car for less than 75,000 K that doesn't have problems and the common folk can afford.I follow Scotty Kilmer a life long car mechanic who has his own YT Segments and MMI gets lampooned with distressing frequency. The bent freak is an idiot savant cyborg. I googled are "Elon's cars crap" and there pages of Yes, Elon Musk is completely full of crap  :D. He hasn't cured cancer, built a longer lasting light bulb, a better burger or even picked up my bar tab - color me not impressed I don't care how much coin he has

I don't mind some hero worship of Musk.  He clearly has caused some things to happen, fine, and he's promised a lot more (which didn't), fine.  I personally wouldn't raise him to some demigod status.  It reminds me a bit of these "comparisons" between Edison and Tesla, the latter gets put way up there, mostly because he used to be less well known.  I think he's still fairly less well known, but he's promoted to demigod anyway.

Even Einstein, who I admire quite a bit, made mistakes of course, one rather large one, probably.

Ha, get it?

Why did Putin invade Ukraine now? | The Hill

I found this interesting.

In my view, Putin had planned to invade Ukraine for a while and did not wish to complicate what he believed would be an inevitable re-election of Trump by invading Ukraine during Trump’s first term. Instead, Putin always planned to wait for a second term because, right or wrong, he anticipated a more favorable American response from a second Trump administration.

We all likely follow spring practice to some extent (not so much for me), and the Spring Game has turned into a thing in a lot of places.  These early polls/rankings come out to garner clicks, because that is about all the news there is, aside from portaling.

And there are speculative pieces like this one, I don't fault the author, he had to write something:

Georgia coach Kirby Smart tasked with sustaining championship-level success, building Bulldogs into dynasty - CBSSports.com

Of course it says pretty much what anyone would know anyway.  Holes to fill, uphill, blah blah.  In the world of today, there is no real off season because clicks are needed and folks have to write something.  A quote by Saban spawns entire articles.  And "we" are hungry to read them.  I'd just as soon take the season off for a while, but get caught up in it because clicking is easy.

The Dawgs don't need to be some "dynasty" however defined, they just need to keep doing well and on occasion pieces will fall into place for them.  I doubt we'll ever see another Bama run after Bama drops back a bit.

Wrong. People like to pretend that Trump and Putin liked each other. They didn't - but they DID respect each other, which led to complete inaction during Trump's 4 years.

2014 Putin invades Ukraine and annexes part of it.

2022 Putin invades Ukraine and is destroying it.

Connect the dots.

dickface putin has made open statements about reunifying former Russian imperial states since his early days coming to power.  He always wanted Ukraine and was always going to take it.  His bromance with Trump might have altered the timeline but it was never going to change the intent.  The older dickface got, the closer to his inevitable mortal death he became, the more urgent his need to get the band back together.  The average life expectancy of a Russian male is 73 years and dickface knows it.  The clock was ticking and the move had to be made soon.

In short, fuck that guy.

The weather here today is about as perfect as weather can be.  We get some rain for the weekend, which is OK, plants need it.

Putin seems to be unpopular with posters here.
