WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is visiting corn-rich Iowa on Tuesday to announce he’ll suspend a federal rule preventing the sale of higher ethanol blend gasoline this summer, as his administration tries to tamp down prices at the pump that have spiked during Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Most gasoline sold in the U.S. is blended with 10% ethanol. The Environmental Protection Agency will issue an emergency waiver to allow widespread sale of 15% ethanol blend that is usually prohibited between June 1 and Sept. 15 because of concerns that it adds to smog in high temperatures.

The reduced fuel economy of 15% gasohol would largely offset any savings at the pump.

yup, mileage suffers about the same percentage, a little more in my Impala

but, decreasing oil consumption by 5% might help the world market

apparently crude prices are back to pre ukraine war levels, but of course gas prices are not

Brent is at $103 today, so prices have not recovered entirely.  You can see the Ukraine spike in the chart.  Oil prices have dropped back to a large degree.

Considering it was Brandon's Party that invented the internet you use to spout off you could be a little more grateful 🤣.Hell even little Hunter has helped out by investing in lithium/cobalt and other raw materials used in EV batteries and consumer electronics companies that has 10% of CCP holdings in green energy . Out of kindness just to help the good old USA meet daddy's stated goals to have all green vehicles on our roads between 2030-40. I don't know why you can't see the sacrifices these fine folks have made for the greater good.Shame on you,Buster

Jet A is the common jet fuel, I doubt it has any ethanol, it's basically Kerosene with some additives.

A turbine can burn about anything if adjusted for it, but ethanol inherently has less fuel value than a pure hydrocarbon because it's already partially oxidized.
