Fending off looters and Antifa are one thing, but if the govt is after you then your mini arsenal isn't going to do squat.

Owning a gun is in the same boat as getting a tattoo for me.  I like the idea of it, but not enough to actually get one.

But many are.  As Drew said- it definitely makes you go even further to avoid confrontation, which I do anyway.
But given that there are so many who possess them who are intending on hurting others- given a situation that is clearly them or me/loved ones, there is no need to think about much.

You shouldn't get one, IMHO, ever.

If nobody turns in then what? Think a lot of the Military/Law Enforcement might just start defending the constitution instead of the cocks in office who refuse to do just that

Take the BLM Dallas shooter for example. He was a trained Marine with an arsenal of military grade weapons that was larger than all of yours combined. He had a great spot; the high ground atop a parking garage, tailor made for sniping. They took him out lickety split, blowing him up with a GD robot.

You guys and your AR-15s aren't going to do a damn thing. They are the ones that have all the tanks and bombs and prisons.

This is assuming some sort of wild coup, correct?

Alas, respect for our constitution is in short supply, just about all over.

I carry for a reason that likely escapes most.... and, I've shot people before- both from a range and up close and personal.. so it's not like i'm speaking completely ignorant of what happens during and afterward.
I’m hoping this means you are ex military, correct?

I don't have an AR-15 or anything close. If the assholes on capitol hill attempt to cancel constitutional rights - they maybe canceled.I have Cop friends and 2 0f my brothers were in the military. You haven't deluded yourself to think that these men would ignore the constitution rights and take a knee to snow flakes like Biden/Pelosi/Harris the very treasonous hacks who sat back as communities all over the country were put to the torch? As they live behind walls in a gated communities with their own personnel protection? After 2020 the last thing most Americans would agree to is that. The result would make what's going on in the Ukraine be tame by comparison. Military and cops aren't going to open up on law abiding citizens while the real criminals are in office - and they know it

IMO most men don't have the mental/physiological attributes to be carrying a handgun for self defense

the number of women would be far less as a percentage, I'm guessing

but, that shouldn't limit their right to carry if they think they can handle it
I remember at a Chipotle in a rough part of Columbus I saw a gal that was proudly wearing a Smith and Wesson tee shirt. Nobody said one word to her about her Confederate flag hat.

Yes; Marine.

Insofar as "if gov't comes for you".... the type of circumstance that would warrant deploying "arsenal" would be the very kind police and mitary would support.  Not officially, likely and based on the way things are currently going, but as people of honor.

..... and there is a bunch of people in Ukraine right now giving ruskies hell... with small arms.... more than that, a bunch of tribesmen in the mountains of Afghanistan whipped the Russians arses, and gave us hell... mostly small arms except for the crew served and artillery they relieved their aggressors of.

Nobody in their right mind wants to see a mess, especially here, nor does anyone who is sane wish to be in a situation where life or death is suspended.... but if we are, and it's inevitable we will be now, later, or much later- it's better to be able to defend your family and comminity as best you can....

And I will.
