The industry of the day, agriculture, required labor.  The elite purchased slaves to do it.  That was cheaper than paying peons.  Those few drivers of industry- the same that made ot almost impossible for small operations to exist- is where the guilt resides... and, ypu can trace current flourishing industries back to the roots of those same people.

Yeah I have to agree with this.  Republicans are a known assholic quantity.  Democrats are just as assholic but try to hide it behind phoniness and fakery.  In most cases I choose not to vote for either.

Can't have the slave trade with no slaves. Who the hell you think was supplying Europe with all the slaves?
