So as long as they push the button enough times and rile up enough dogs with their dog whistle to complain, they can pass laws about it?  I agree.

The CRT outrage is a joke.
Honestly, as a teacher, there's no need to teach CRT overtly.  You teach about a situation at a certain time, you cover that war, you cover this topic over here, etc.....and CRT is when the students connect the dots.  It doesn't require an agenda at all.
You teach them about slavery.
You teach them about all the stuff before it and after it.
You teach them about the Civil War (and before and after).
You teach them about the Civil Rights movement and before and after.

To exit a year of learning with the understanding that black people are screwed over and over at every turn is plain as day.  No one needs an ulterior motive to teach it.  No one needs to be a part of the BLM movement.  No one needs to teach anything that isn't already in their state standards. 

This is such an obvious bullshit "outraged Karen" topic that it's pathetic. 

As for the 1619 project, I think it's probably attempting to overcorrect for the years the above things weren't taught.  I look at it the same as a world map that has the Pacific Ocean in the center, with the Americas on the right.  I prefer that map, as it pertains to hominid evolution and the spread first of Homo Erectus and then Homo Sapiens.  But for some people to insist on using that map as the default isn't an outrage whether you like it or not.

Reviewing our country's history from the African-American perspective is interesting and likely beneficial for many.  The sudden leap that I see everyone seem to mention from a "reframing" to "white kids are told they're racist today" is nuts.  If that is a central tenet, then it's wrong and absurd.

Perhaps the point is actually that racism is so inherent and engrained in our society that the very people who are outraged by CRT or the 1619 project are blind to what is fueling their rage?  Maybe? 

Everyone I know who is in education on both sides of the political spectrum look at the CRT outrage either laugh or are dumbfounded.  It's fake news, even if a small, but loud contingent of Florida parents say otherwise.

Democrats might have bad ideas, but at least their leaders are genuine.  Republicans are being trolled by gaslighters.  I really am afraid it's true.
