CRT is another dog whistle.
You don't know that because you're the dog.

https://www.texaspolicy.com/yes-critical-race-theory-is-taught-in-texas-schools/

Try to keep up. The left strategy of denying has failed.  Denying that CRT is being taught has not only been fully debunked- it is no longer your lefty strategy.  Your team has now moved past that-and into defending it, and eventually will move into the “ claim the other side is behind it”phase. Ya know, your established playbook, same one you use for everything ( see: BLM isn’t violent, Antifa doesn’t exist, Hunter Biden Laptop is disinformation, we aren’t anti law enforcement, our new spending spree is good for the economy and will curb inflation, asking for ID to vote is racist, etc, etc, etc)

I could literally post 100 examples like the one above, by non partisan sources, about CRT being taught.  That’s how you lost The election in West Virginia.  Parents and the American public is on to you.

That’s why you need to get the latest strategy talking points from you lib associates.  Calling something a dog whistle when it obviously is VERY real has completely failed.

Move into the honest defense if your bad ideas, it’s liberating.  Just like all the left biased media has now tried to do hit pieces on Desantis for this recent parental rights bill he signed.  They do want to expose k-3rd graders to conversations about their sexual orientation and private parts.  They are saying so- and loudly.

Can anyone offer a succinct nonpartisan definition of CRT and how it differs from say mainstream thinking, if it does?

That isn't very succinct, but whatever.  Obviously, teaching history is desirable (learning history is even better).  If CRT is in effect noting black folks have suffered discrimination for decades, that is history.  I think the political aspect is what is taught about reality TODAY.

I get a feeling that a lot of this stuff is 99% political silliness solving problems that rarely exist, if at all.

Do some research.

you take that position on just about everything by the way.

Did you watch that recent Gubernatorial election, where the guy with the big lead said “ parents should not have a say in what is taught in the classroom.”?  That whole thing was because parents discovered that CRT and other items around sexual orientation were being taught.

and obviously that candidate lost big time.  And that’s when the party he belongs to move away from the denial phase and then to the let’s defend it phase.

A few dozen out of how many first grade teachers?  Some teachers are just poor teachers, many in my experience were.  I can't recall ever knowing whether a teacher was married or not.  I do think their personal lives should be kept out of the classroom entirely, but whether we need a law on that I am a bit more dubious.

I don't think it's really enforceable anyway, and it to me is solving a nonproblem, or rare problem.  But it makes political headlines and disinformation and avoids trying to solve any real problems that may exist.  I could be wrong, this might be a serious issue in the classroom that happens frequently, but it seems to me the underlying issue is these teachers are not proficient as teachers.

I find doing "research" to get a nonpartisan realistic view of any political topic is very difficult.  People read what they want to believe, instead of searching for the best of what is reality.  Research is started from a highly partisan position with confirmation bias involved.  I was taught not to do that, with some hard lessons.

I do know politicians like to take a nonissue and create a major stir.  I do know the media largely presents their own spin on topics leaving out important perspectives.  Thee things get people incensed, and both parties benefit when that happens, and in the mean time "we" ignore the real tough issues that do exist.

A few dozen who were interviewed.

The loud media voices and corporate voices who have demonstrably opposed this legislation are not in agreement with you. They are not taking the opposite position because it isn’t a problem. They are taking it because they disagree with what can and should be taught in schools. They are proving your point incorrect.

I have a neighbor who was incensed when he learned what his kid was being taugh in a LOCAL school.  Real life.   He pulled his kid out and is paying for private school. That’s not research. you are a bit behind on this issue.

Trump is the best chance the Republicans have in 2024, according to all the early polling right now. He just has to keep his mouth shut. COVID and some of the ridiculous sh*t that came out of his mouth cost himself the last election if you ask me. The entire press lining up to squash/suppress and discredit the obvious true story of Hunter Biden's laptop from hell certainly may have cost him as well.

As far as the deep state thing goes- that sh*t was WILD. You basically saw the CIA work in tandem with the Democratic party to take down an elected republican President. That interview with Chuck Schumer where he warned Trump before Trump ever took office to leave the intelligence services alone and that they have "six ways from Sunday to get back at you" gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. CRAZY shit.
I think they could run Winnie the Pooh out there and beat the current admin. Soundly.

OK, that is what we call anecdotal evidence, one dad was incensed about something.  This could be a problem, I'm far from an expert.  It does sound to me like the kind of thing that is a rare issue blown up into a major deal with some new law that probably is not enforceable, but sounds good.

The border and its security is a distraction from the real problem.  The legal immigration system is broken.  But working towards fixing that isn't a 'gotcha' sound bite for whichever side you're on.

It's sad.
I have a good friend from Puerto Rico who happens to be a Federal Immigration Judge.

The system is NOT broken, according to her, and she has been in her position for 35 years.

What IS broken is the interpretation and bastardization of said system by the Legislative and Executive branches - who need to stay the F out of it and uphold the Constitution. You know, live up to the oath they all swore to.

That is NOT happening right now - especially on the Executive side.
