I don't think China wants to suppress the US, they do aspire to be the dominant country in the world.  And they likely will get there eventually, though a revolution can happen at some point.  Their key is the middle class aspirants, so long as life appears to be improving for most folks, they should remain stable.  The air pollution thing is another flash point for them.

If they can suck Russia or the US into useless expensive wars, it's good for them.
