Oil prices are down from their peak, $130 to $95.  Gas prices won't come down as fast, but they won't go up much either, and should come down in a few days.
So... my question stands, then.

AAA Gas Prices

They are down a bit over a penny according to this, so there.

Oil prices are down a lot.

They aren't going up now either I bet.  And should trickle lower in a week or so.  They aren't going to drop the price of the last tanker that refueled them, except Costco does this from what I've seen.  They don't raise prices until the next tanker arrives (which is about every day).

The Pratt & Whitney J58-P4 engine that powered the SR-71 was a considerable innovation of their era; each one could produce 32,500 lbf (145 kN) of static thrust. The J58 was most efficient around Mach 3.2, the Blackbird’s typical cruising speed. A unique hybrid, the engine can be thought of as a turbojet inside a ramjet. Linda Sheffield Miller

There are many Americans who feel the gas price increase is intentional

I dont feel its intentional but the current administration is intentionally not doing enough to reduce energy prices.

Instead they are trying to take advantage of the situation by trying to get legislation passed to favor their green agenda

The American voting public isnt fooled and this will make the midterm elections even more red

If Biden really wanted lower fuel prices he would be doing everything he could to promote increased oil production.  OPEC has no reason to increase its production as long as the USA stays with its current strategy.

Biden should be meeting with Oil Company leaders to facilitate increased production but isnt because he does not want this problem to go away

up the oil companies jack the price immediately when there's just a rumor

but, they don't lower prices even after something "real" happens

I hope they are reasonably taxed on their record profits

Nearly all the gas stations are locally owned and they determine the price they will charge.  Now that will reflect the replacement cost of the gas they are currently pumping of course, and the local markets.

Wait, when did gas prices "come back down?"

for real. I literally just paid $5.59 a gallon at a Marathon gas station.

Prices haven't been rising the past few days over my way. Either staying stable or decreasing in some areas 10 cents a gal or so.
