When an item is tossed into a recycle bin, you'd suspect it will be repurposed and stay out of the landfill. But that's not always the case. In fact, about 26% of items sent to the recycle facility last year, went to the landfill instead.

The company is now taking some items they didn't used to in the past. Recycle yards that Waste Management sends recyclables to will now take plastic lids if they are screwed on tight.

"The lids used to not be recyclable because they’re typically a different breed of plastic but recyclers have adapted to us recyclers because we weren’t following those rules all that very well so they had to adapt their process to be able to handle the different grade of plastic that was coming in," Eckman said.

May be an image of text that says 'GAS 101: A course which addresses the fluctuation of gas prices and causes thereof. (This class was created for those who have been misinformed and/or are spreading misinformation.) The price of gasoline is determined by the following factors: Taxes Distribution Marketing •Cost of refining •Crude oil prices None of these factors are determined by the president of the United States.'

gas prices are connected to crude oil prices which are determined mainly by supply

the supply of crude oil in the US is affected by the actions of the President

so the President can affect gasoline prices

Inflation, explained by eggs

There’s a lot of chatter around exactly why inflation is relatively high, not only in the United States but globally. Some people blame the pandemic, others the supply chain, others government spending, others corporate greed. The truth of the matter is that there is a mix of factors in play, and there’s no one simple answer to how we got here — or solution to how to get out of this. To the average person, the whole thing can feel confusing. So we figured we’d take a crack at it by deciphering the case of the egg.

https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2022/3/2/22956966/inflation-explained-by-eggs

As Marc Dresner, director of integrated communications at the American Egg Board, put it, “It’s not like we have eggs sitting in tankers off the coast of Los Angeles.” But still, the egg industry, like every industry, is facing higher prices and challenges that are leading to costlier eggs for consumers overall.

A fun fact: In the ‘60s, amid concerns about inflation and rising prices, President Lyndon Johnson asked the US surgeon general to put out an alert about cholesterol in eggs, apparently trying to curb demand. It didn’t really help, because prices were up among a bunch of items, not just a few — which is also the scenario we find ourselves in now.

We had deflation because of suppressed demand during COVID, then we had government sending most of us money when we couldn't really spend it.  That pressure built up into demand that increased much faster than supply.  I've been noting many hotels and car rental places booked up when generally they would not be.  And they have raised prices quite a bit as well.

It shall be life."

Jeep Wrangler Engine Annihilated After Being Towed In 4-Low, Revving To Over 50,000 RPM | Carscoops

Holy cow.
Oops!

I was trying to figure out if this was stupidity or inattention (i.e. 4L is right by neutral on the shifter, so if someone who had towed Jeeps for many years made a mistake with the transfer case shift lever, it could just be inattention).

But I see it's a 2021 Jeep, so there's a good chance the RV owner didn't know what the hell they were doing. I.e. stupidity.

I've never towed my Jeep, but even I know that you can't do this.

I would think they might have noticed when the RV didn't seem to be pulling very stoutly.

As I understand it, on the latest gen Jeeps there are a couple of steps required to disengage the transmission completely.  Perhaps not all steps were followed.

Obviously, dragging it in 4-L would be worse than dragging it in N or even D.

The poor things tires must have been flat spotted too.

Might have been new to RV ownership too and couldn't tell the difference...
