"This bass features a 34" scale for easy playability, a sleek matte black finish, and powerful EMG pickups for deep low end tone, along with two solar cells that make this the first eco-friendly instrument on the market to reduce a player's footprint on the planet. And additionally, it also features an insanely powerful propane-fueled flamethrower if you also want to destroy a 100-foot radius of the planet as well. THIS BABY JUST SIMPLY RIPS!" shouted Musk over the blaring sound of Pantera's seminal hit "Cowboys From Hell" as he thrust devil fingers in the air and headbanged his way across the packed convention stage.

Cincy,

Just wondering, did current supply dry up or was it a spike in demand that caused gasoline prices to jump last week?

or was it just the threat of supply might decrease that caused the oil companies to gouge consumers?

This is the thread for politics. The Ukraine and Corona threads aren't.

I suspect that's why badge posted it here instead of the Corona thread.

Supply tightened obviously, futures prices spiked, and short delivery prices spiked.  It is actually difficult right now to buy Russian oil, banking sanctions.

Demand could be up some because of military activities, I don't know about that.

I don't think supply changed enough to cause an issue last week.

I could be wrong, perhaps we were getting oil from Ukraine.

supply to the refinery might have been a very small thing, but the gasoline that was already refined and coming out of pumps wasn't affected

future things spiked, but that was simply an excuse to raise prices at the pump

just like when the president says something - just an excuse to gouge the comsumer

oil is a traded commodity and its value will always reflect the market value even if its already been processed

thus the price of gasoline will also reflect the market value even if its already in the pumps

as an example golds value will be market even for that bar thats in your desk drawer

Costco doesn't seem to raise prices as fast as others, I think they raise it when they get a new shipment.

so, it's not truly supply and demand

just perceived supply & demand in the future

so,  ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) is innocent and doesn't really set the price of it's gasoline?

it just rides the market price
