US LNG is 40-50% more expensive than Russian gas- and this doesn't take into account the cost of the infrastructure to actually be able to import the gas and use it.

Germany changing it's energy policies hurts Germany- and it only helps the US- who they'd be buying most of their LNG from.
Russia is being disconnected from SWIFT as we type, thank goodness.

last I saw it was being discussed, but not done- with Germany being strongly against it. this must literally be breaking news.

Yup literally breaking, and Germany had agreed a couple of days ago.  The last holdouts were Italy, Hungary, and reportedly Cyprus although that turned out to not be true. 

Well, also, the US was hesitant, because our government is full of dipshits and pussies.

In fairness.  That's trying to staff every project at work.  You can pick from a bunch of dumb try hards, or smart guys who are definitely trying to undermine you.  Granted they aren't actively rooting for Russia.
