any military expert can look at the makeup of the military assets employed and quickly determine their intended use

if it were offensive there would be a lot of boots on the ground and paratroop aircraft

there would be long range missiles etc

Being fixed in place doesn't guarantee it's defensive in nature, missile silos for example.  But a mine I'd consider defensive.  Fixed antiaircraft positions are defensive.  Most military equipment can be used on the offense of course, and defensive gear can enable the offensive thrust.

The Maginot Line was defensive, and it actually "worked" tactically.  It's fascinating to visit.

of course he's not worried about an invasion. russia has the most nuclear weapons in the entire world- because of this they are never going to be invaded. but there is no doubt that he is worried about being surrounded by a 30 member military alliance that is hostile to Russia- and having that hostile military alliance continually encroach on his borders and pick off his buffer zones and diminish his little slice of the world/sphere of influence. And said alliance is lead by the worlds most powerful military (US) which happens to also have the 2nd most nuclear weapons in the entire world and also happens to wage the most war of any country on earth in the last 5-6 decades. I do not believe that it is an unreasonable security concern of Russia's.

I'll remind all of you jackwagons that it was CINCY that started the Jeep talk on this thread.

I suspect he was trying to respond to my posting of a weird crazy jacked-up Jeep on the Weird History thread but posted his response here by mistake.  Regardless, HE'S the one that started it, ya fargin bastages.

going off topic, @utee94 and @longhorn320 , bama baseball travels to longhorns this weekend. bama's a quite young team (1 sec start for the 3 projected starting pitchers this weekend) and has been hot opening this season, but longhorns are a powerhouse. hoping to steal 1 but not expecting it. either of you going? thought/expectations? is it omaha/title or bust for y'all this season?

Horns should be very good this year, Omaha-worthy once again for sure and honestly anything less would be disappointing.  I don't know much about your Tide beisbolers but I watch a lot of college baseball and most D1 teams from the South and West have at least one really good arm that can beat an opponent on the right day, so Alabama taking one wouldn't surprise me at all. 

It's going to be really cold for the series.  Like, currently 39 degrees in Austin and it will only get cooler into evening (game just started at 4:30).  And tomorrow high of 41 but drizzly.  Sunday should be better, high in the upper 50s and partly sunny.

I might make it out on Sunday, I'm definitely not going to be there today or tomorrow because I really, REALLY hate the cold.

The numbers are less important than the delivery systems and their capabilities and intended uses.  Accuracy can be a factor, but "ease" of delivery and reliability are clearly facors in any nuclear exchange.
