did he praise the invasion? didn't see what he said. wouldn't surprise me if he pat Putin on the back for out-smarting Biden and blamed Biden for the invasion- politics and such.

later at a fundraising event, he doubled down:
"He's taken over a country for $2 worth of sanctions. I'd say that's pretty smart. Listen, he's taking over a country - literally a vast, vast location, a great piece of land with a lot of people - just walking right in. This would have never happened, ever in a million years ,would have never happened - cause I know him, I know him very well... (then goes on to recognize donors in room, unrelated to russia/ukraine situation)"
and maybe most telling is that russian tv is using his statements as propaganda and justification to the russian people that they're justified.
