it should be noted that he was forced to discontinue this act by the Canadian Senate he didnt do it of his own free will

The next election will be very interesting

damage has already been done, and certain aspects of the financial spying/freezing/regulating f***kery his government imposed is going to become permanent in Canada now- he's already abused the law and his office by invoking that act unconstitutionally and cracking down on peaceful protestors, which is precisely why the CCLA, the Canadian version of the ACLU is currently suing his government in court.

And even after the blockades had been ended, he pushed the House of Commons to extend the Emergency Act for 30 days- only for him to revoke the Emergency Act a day or two later. He revoked it as longhorn said because he was receiving major push back and pressure from the Senate.

Ukraine can drag it out if they have the will to do so. Holding that much territory will be difficult and costly for the Russian invasion force.

Ukraine's frontline forces will likely last only a few days before dissolving into what they can hope becomes an insurgency that has a chance to frustrate occupying Russian Forces without actually regaining grounds against occupying Forces.

In just the last two hours:

-Amphibious ships have landed at the port city of Odessa and Russian marines have stormed the city.

-Kyiv airport being evacuated, Russian Forces are targeting its airfields for seizures

-Russian troops are crossing the border towards Kharkiv

-Russian strikes have hit military installations across the country, including airfields and weapons depots in major cities

-Moscow stock-exchange suspends morning trading

-Power blackout in Kyiv

-Internal Ministry is advising Ukrainians to stay at home, wait for sirens, prepare a grab bag

It's already on, it's getting ugly, and oh, by the way, an Electronic Dance Music band is upset that Russia's invasion might interrupt their spring concert festivals:

can't help but think Ukraine giving up it's nukes in '94, Bush II withdrawing the US from the ABM treaty in 2002 and then pushing for Ukraine to join NATO in 2008 (Bush II had pushed for full-fledged membership but Germany & France blocked that for fear of agitating Russia- but they said y'all will be members one day- but not now- y'all have an open ended invite with no real date or real plan in sight) lead us on a collision course to this.

Man was it a bad idea for Ukraine to give up 100% of it's nukes and man was Bush II a horrible President.

Why is the ABM treaty relevant to this?

I thought Putin would play a longer game here, this is so overt it's going to cost him (and us).

The Egg Lobby is not going to like this:

Atlanta Breakfast Club Due to Open Third Location in Atlantic Station During Summer 2022 | What Now Atlanta

Chicken and waffles is a thing around here, I didn't see that in Cincy, at all.  I've never ordered it here, it seems odd to me.  Our local Korean place offers it, I might try it as I'm working through their offerings (Mukja).

The Korean place is still in business, but not thriving, despite having much better food than the offerings nearby which are on the main street instead of a side street, which matters of course more than food quality.  Now I'm hungry.  Mukja is really good, I hope they can hang on and finally get recognized.

Putin's invasion of Ukraine was totally predictable.  His aggression towards Ukraine was never about NATO.  The Biden Administration had over 6 months to plan for this and did little.  The strategy to sanction Russia after the fact is obviously a failure.

I didn't predict it, beyond taking over the "contested regions" in Donbass area.  Taking over all of Ukraine by force strikes me as over reach of the worst kind.  I am  hoping somehow this is not a complete invasion/occupation, I fear that is wrong.

Germany and Biden's sanctioning of the Nordstream 2 pipeline may have backfired.  Russia's motive for building the Nordstream 2 pipeline was so they would not need the pipelines through Ukraine and pay them $2 billion per year.  IF Russia occupies all of Ukraine they do not need the Nordstream 2 pipeline.
