I did look it up, and posted the data.  China does not control 95% of the world's rare earth production.

Why don't we stick to facts when they are readily available?  Is it more fun to post something dramatically untrue and hyperbolic?  Reality is dire enough.

China’s dominance of rare earths supply is a growing concern in the West | South China Morning Post (scmp.com)

  • China provides more than 85 per cent of the world’s rare earths and it is home to about two-thirds of the global supply of rare metals and minerals like antimony and baryte, report says
  • US and Europe are worried that any disruption to their supply chains for such products would hurt key industries.

U.S. dependence on China's rare earth: Trade war vulnerability | Reuters

China supplied 80% of the rare earths imported by the United States from 2014 to 2017.
China is home to at least 85% of the world’s capacity to process rare earth ores into material manufacturers can use, according to research firm Adamas Intelligence.
It would take years to build enough processing plants to match China’s processing capacity of 220,000 tonnes - which is five times the combined capacity of the rest of the world.

I dig the new Broncos, they look great and a lot of thought went into their design and development.

A friend of mine got one and we're set to go out in a couple of weeks to a local offroach adventure park where we're going to compare them head to head.
i'm not jealous at all, you bastage.

Heh... well, he's the one with the brand-new Bronco, and I'm the one with the 4-year-old Jeep.  So we can both be jealous of him, although the Jeep is still in great condition.

His has the Badlands trim, with the Sasquatch package, which is basically their highest and best off-road combination, and is designed to be comparable to the Wrangler Rubicon (which is what I have).  Looks just like this:

Oh my bad. It's 85% according to your link and not 95% like I thought it was. What a major difference! Not. That's still incredible world dominance. And I was wrong because I was quoting it from an article I read awhile back- which I found in my saved links tab- and turns out I was wrong because that article said at it's peak China was producing 98% of the worlds rare earths. Link.

Nice Rover copy.
As was the original Ford Bronco, basically.

And the Rover was a copy of the jeep.

I had a buddy in high school that had a vintage 60s Bronco, I loved that thing.

the new Bronco is pretty cool. And shockingly Ford was set to announce/unveil it on OJ Simpson's birthday until they received huge backlash and apologized for not realizing it was OJ's birthday.

They should make an all-white special edition call it the Bronco OJ. I bet it'd actually sell.

those are beautiful, but even worse than the later full size models as far as needs to repair vs cost. a well kept one can top $100k easy, and a pristine one will usually be north of $200k.
