Commonly seen in and around Cody WY where my folks live.  An aside, they can do some serious damage to gold courses.  They look amazing when they are hustling.
Didn't know they are in Cody. I have several friends who live there.

I love Europe, I really do.  I just know it well enough to know it's not much different than the US when it comes to political struggles and social issues.

It's worse in many spots.

Overall, bigotry is worse over there than here.  People who haven't spent much time there don't seem to comprehend this.

Anyway, now that Germany has killed NS2, will Putin respond by cutting off NS1 and the other pipelines into Europe?  It would harm them, but it would also harm his own country.

We should send a few of our Texas boys over to Europe and show them what the frac is up.  They probably already have enough O/G under their ground they wouldn't even need Russia's.

I'll never forget watching Kenosha burn. I still have dreams about it, and they are not good dreams.

Clearly the strategy to sanction after the fact to deter Putin has failed.
sanctions wouldn't work as a deterrent. if you're getting punished for potentially doing something, might as well actually do it and try to make it worth it. the hope was the threat of sanctions might deter it, but didn't either.

what's kinda bs is that the sanctions are relatively small, so far. we were told if russia further invades that the sanctions would be harsh. i thought that meant officially invading, not just proxy like has been since 2014. instead, apparently, "further" meant the current proxy is still ok kinda, but anymore and we'll do the bad sanctions. it's like a double secret probation. some of the eu countries seem to be doing more serious ones, so maybe those will work. and maybe that was the plan, let the eu try to deal with it first, i don't know. i'm not opposed to that, btw, just not what i interpreted/expected from before.

Why would you say that?  How could you believe it?  They're having weekly protests, some turning violent, over COVID measures.  Their government is warning of the "radicalization of the right" which basically means they don't want people standing up for themselves or their rights.  They want peaceful, docile little followers.

I don't know why, but it continues to surprise me when people idealize various countries, especially those in Europe, as if they don't suffer from the exact same sorts of issues we do.
this all day long. I love Europe, used to go every single year for awhile there. Like almost 10 years in a row I would go for at least a couple weeks. Had a trip planned and paid for in May of 2020 - then COVID hit here in March and everything got canceled.

I love Europe but I am not going back there for awhile. A lot of those countries governments have gone bat-shit crazy oppressive since COVID- not exactly to the level of Australia or Canada - but man - no thanks. Will not be going back or spending my money there any time soon.

yup.
I remember going from Barcelona to "Rome" on a cruise back in 2017. We debark in Italy, and there are military with AR's standing at the gate. Probably 50 of them. You don't see that shit here. Only in Utopia.
