remember when Trump was saying his campaign and then Presidency had been illegally spied on by his opposition? And the useless mainstream media laughed at him over it....well, turns out those assholes were very likely dead wrong (I know, what a shocker!) and he was *probably* being spied on at behest of Hillary Clinton/DNC....kind of strange you don't hear a peep about this on cable news or in the papers of record (NYT & WaPo)

in other news that is a gut-punch to the working class, freedom, and democracy - the Canadian government is invoking the Emergencies Act - basically martial law - for the first time in the countries history - to crush what has been a completely peaceful non-violent protest by working class truckers and farmers of Canada who are sick, tired, and fed up with the draconian science-less, evidence-free based coronavirus lockdowns and mandates of the Canadian government.

https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/what-the-truckers-want

Poor bastards...they should've started protesting about race and police brutality, turned over and burned cop cars, destroyed private property, looted, started beating people senselessly for no reason, and taken over government buildings, then the government of Canada would have sang them songs and given them parades.

Oh can I just say f**k Canada. That has always been my feeling about that entire country as a whole. It's a stupid, worthless, useless country. Could totally do without it. Even their own citizens hate Canada. That's why all the ones with any money move down to South Florida. I say keep the latin immigrants, deport the god damn dirty good for nothing useless Canadians, starting with that lesbian Justin Bieber.

Oh: f**k Canada even more...

Putin in a 2005 speech to the Russian people:

"Above all, we should acknowledge that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a major geopolitical disaster of the century," Putin said in an address to the Russian people. "As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. Tens of millions of our co-citizens and co-patriots found themselves outside Russian territory. Moreover, the epidemic of disintegration infected Russia itself."

In 2018 Putin said he would reverse the collapse of the USSR.

Eh....that's hardly him stating any intention to restore the USSR, and he's certainly no communist ideologue.

He's just expressing an opinion that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a tragedy and a disaster, an opinion that I'm sure many people in Russia and other former Soviet states might agree with. He's also stated a hypothetical...that if he could go back in time he would reverse the collapse. That isn't evidence of any intention to restore the USSR. These sort of statements were done mostly for political effect- to invoke nostalgia and stroke the pride of a very proud Russian people.

He also said in a similar statement that it would be impossible to restore the USSR today.

Pretty weak sauce imo.

the 1/6 insurrection is maybe the dumbest shit ever. complete and utter waste of time. and I hate that word insurrection- such a loaded word - as if a rag tag band of around 800 unarmed toothless drunk hillbilly losers could launch an insurrection and overthrow the US gov't. LMFAO. Give me a f**king break already.

a violent uprising against an authority or government.

It's a pretty broad definition, and there were instances of violence obviously.

INSURRECTION. A rebellion of citizens or subjects of a country against its government.
     2. The Constitution of the United States, art. 1, s. 8. gives power to congress " to provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the Union, suppress insurrections, and repel invasions."
     3. By the act of Congress of the 28th of February, 1795, 1 Story's L. U. S. 389, it is provided: Sec. 1. That whenever the United States shall be invaded, or be in imminent danger of invasion, from any foreign nation or Indian tribe, it shall be lawful for the president of the United States to call forth such number, of the militia of the state, or states, most convenient to the place of danger, or scene of action, as he may judge necessary to repel such invasion, and to issue his orders, for that purpose, to such officer or officers of the militia as be shall think proper. And in case of an insurrection in any state, against the government thereof, it shall be lawful for the president of the United States, on application of the legislature of such state, or of the executive, (when the legislature cannot be convened,) to call forth such number of the militia of any other state or states, as may be applied for, as he may judge sufficient to suppress such insurrection.
4.-2 That, whenever the laws of the United States shall be opposed, or the execution thereof obstructed, in any state, by combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, or by the powers vested in the marshals by this act, it shall be lawful for the president of the United States to call forth the militia of such state, or of any other state or states, as may be necessary to suppress such combinations, and to cause the laws to be duly executed; and the use of militia so to be called forth may be continued, if necessary, until the expiration of thirty days after the commencement of the then next session of congress.
5.-3. That whenever it may be necessary, in the judgment of the president, to use the military force hereby directed to be called forth, the president shall forthwith, by proclamation, command such insurgents to [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif

a violent uprising against an authority or government.

It's a pretty broad definition, and there were instances of violence obviously.
Insurrection is a loaded word. It's a legal term that implies much more than a sporadically violent riot on government property.

And yeah, it was such a violet uprising that only 4 people died that day- all of which were the hillbilly rioters. Two rioters died of a heart attack, one rioter was a meth head tweeker that died of a meth overdose, and a fourth rioter was shot in the neck by a police officer. The Capitol police officer Sicknick that the media FALSELY claimed died because his brains got bashed in by a fire extinguisher - yeah that never happened. Medical examiners autopsy showed he died a day or two later of natural causes.

As for the "arms" they were "armed" with - baseball bat, metal flag pole, crowbars, pepper spray. Where are the guns? Armed IMPLIES guns. You don't say someone was armed when they have a baseball bat. You say they are armed when they have a freaking gat - not a bat.

It's hyperbole hysteria designed to get people worked up and sell the public on bullsh*t like an extra $2 billion in funding for the Capitol Police and an expansion of their reach and power. A completely secretive agency with no transparency to the public that is not subject to FOIA laws. Yeah, let's give them $2 billion more and have them open offices in states all over the country. Give them more power. What could possibly go wrong? They won't ever abuse new said power....whoops....looks like they've already started
