several places along the way you can stop for a cocktail if you would like to.  

As we are entering the outer channels of Okeechobee, watched this poor kid standing on a bridge trying to land this huge bass, and somewhere around a 12 foot alligator took it from him with such a violent explosion we all pee down our legs!

If you want to break the trip into two days here’s a good place to catch a great meal and a nice warm bed. 

If you ever do the trip and wanna nice place to stay for the night when you get over here shoot me a PM. You have to be OK with dogs though lol

That big boat in the lock with you... pretty sure that's my friends Brian and Sue. They did the Great Loop last year and was in that area in May. Not too many boats like that around anymore.

Did you catch the name of it by chance?

Didn’t catch the name.  Nice boat though!

When we got to Okeechobee we clung to the southern edge, which is very well marked.  

Yes if you show up here you get your own bedroom with your own bath, a cabana out to the pool and you will drink my beer and bourbon and eat my steaks!
