there's an excellent pizza place in the eastern market in Detroit called Supino's that has a pizza with prosciutto and cracked egg that is phenomenal. the prosciutto gets all crisp and the egg cooks over easy - basically a bacon & eggs pizza - could eat that for breakfast all freaking day. might be the best pizza they have.

EGGS?!?!?

Had a breakfast burrito today with some fluffy scrambled eggs mixed in. Highly scrumptious and would purchase again.

I Actually make those at home- especially when I have company.  Good way to feed a larger group- lay out the ingredients and they can make their own.  Eggs, crumbled sausage, bacon, cheese, guacamole, hot sauce, veggies, rice, pico, sir cream, etc.

Breakfast tacos are a staple around here.

Scrambled eggs and chorizo are my favorite of course.  But bacon and egg, bacon cheese and egg, potato egg and cheese, eggs with carne guisada, are all common.  And then, there's the BBQ chopped beef breakfast taco, which is a meal by itself.

I still dream of the free breakfast setup they had in Paris.

I wouldn't say it's inherently better in Europe, it's just that in the US we have so many chain restaurants in comparison that get most of the business.  One can find pretty good dining here by avoiding chains, and one advantage we have here is diversity, I didn't find many "Mexican" and "Asian" restaurants in France, a few, but not like here.

We have a couple Indian places near us that are excellent.  (England of course has them.)

In France, it's pretty much French food all the time.  Ha.

We just had a Persian place open up the street that is supposed to be good, it's their fifth location I think.  Gonna try it.

Disagree. I think it's just inherently better. The regions where certain foods are made are protected. Their versions of the FDA are much stricter in terms of what chemicals, preservatives, pesticides, and other crap they allow into their food. You can get better food at train stations and gas stations in Italy than you can in 95% of American restaurants. So....yeah, not buying this. We barely even have train stations here, but try eating at a gas station in America. Lol.

Food is just better over there.

It's a lot easier to find very good food, I agree, but with a bit of effort, one can find good stuff here as well, and a lot more diversity.

Americans patronize chains, which almost without exception are mediocre.

years ago on the old board perhaps even before the foodie thread one of you denizens of the nether regions where barking about huevos rancheros.Dayum when Cindy makes the whole dish we simply don't bake the eggs in as the dish is big enough for 2 maybe 3 meals .For just the 2 of us now we softly fry sunny side up the eggs as we are going.Great Dish, let it be said you are good for something.

That's a sweeping generalization. We have alot more farm land and perhaps you don't have fresh produce sold roadside  we do up here and it's a game changer. Recipes brought over have been altered/curtailed to either tastes, availibility or experimentation. It's given you enough sustenance to tap out brazillian posts since 2004 😁

Ha, thanks!

Yeah huevos rancheros are prevalent down here as well, one of my faves.

Chilaquiles and migas are other common breakfast foods inspired from south of the border.
