Michael Avenatti convicted today in court of stealing $300k from his pornstar client Stormy Daniels. How many convictions is this now in the past couple years for the former media darling? Like 4-5? Lol. Did Joe Rogan ever have him on as a guest? Just saying...

Harvard was started in 1636, Yale 1701, and Princeton 1746. SCOUTS was founded in 1789.
Should've said the law schools, which it does.

Back in the day, a lot of lawyers didn't go to "law school", mostly because they didn't exist at all until the country was founded.  It is interesting how today we now need droves of lawyers.  I noticed off I-75 south of here that a good percentage of billboards were for injury lawyers.

The Litchfield Law School of Litchfield, Connecticut, was the first independent law school established in America for reading law. Founded and led by lawyer Tapping Reeve, the proprietary school was unaffiliated with any college or university.[3] (While Litchfield was independent, a long-term debate resulted in the 1966 recognition of William & Mary Law School as the first law school to have been affiliated with a university.)[4]

Reeve began teaching his first student in 1774 and was teaching by lecture by 1784. Reeve later became the Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court. The school closed in 1833, having educated over 1,100 students, including Aaron Burr and John C. Calhoun. The law school, including Reeve's house, was declared a National Historic Landmark, in 1965, as the Tapping Reeve House and Law School,[2][5] which is owned and operated by the Litchfield Historical Society as a museum displaying life in a 19th-century period school.[6] The Society also operates the Litchfield History Museum.

MARTA unveils bus rapid transit plans for Southwest Atlanta | Urbanize Atlanta

I'm more of a fan of bus rapid transit than light (or heavy) rail in cities.  A bus is obviously more flexible, one could envision grade separated bus lanes in some areas, and they can operate on streets when that isn't feasible.  We have a need for more east-west "transit" around midtown in my opinion and some areas are open enough to provide land for bridges for buses.  The buses here run on NG and don't stink at least, and could be electric or at least hybrid.

MARTA claims to want light rail on the Beltline, but I prefer the BL to be for people to walk over light rail, which is what it is today.

around 100 old Joe Rogan podcast episodes deleted from Spotify. None dealing with COVID - everyone deleted has been many years old. his audience has actually shrunk since going exclusively to Spotify - they definitely needed him more than he needed them. Spotify has been aggressively trying to capture the podcast market and dethrone Apple the past couple years, investing billions into podcasts - and it's worked - and in large part because of Rogan who is the single biggest podcaster on planet earth - as Spotify have now toppled Apple and are the biggest podcast platform there is.

I wonder if he's thinking...who needs this bullshit anymore? If he ever decides to get investors and start his own thing, sign-up all his friends to do their own podcasts on his network and take it public - he'd probably become a billionaire.

I barely know anything about Rogan, I did read he said he'd probably vote for Bernie Sanders.

he was on the tv show NewsRadio in the '90s - one of the best network sitcoms ever if you ask me- headlined by Phil Hartman (RIP) - who is arguably the SNL GOAT imo - he was a semi-successful stand-up comic - not huge- but he was a working stand-up with specials on Comedy Central - he parlayed that into making a ton of money as the host of a very popular reality tv show called Fear Factor, he's been the voice of the UFC for over 20 years, and he's now the largest podcaster on planet earth.

Pretty weird and interesting career arch he's had.

this is pretty astounding to me, but Tucker Carlson of FoxNews has the largest audience of Democrats in the key demo aged 25-54 of any of the cable news shows - Mister Rachel Maddow included.

Oh and re: Spotify/Rogan - music artists should want their music off Spotify. But not because of Joe Rogan. Because Spotify pays them almost nothing or in some cases literally nothing.

Taylor Swift - one of the 5 or so largest pop music artists in the entire world - very publicly slammed Spotify and in 2014 she pulled her music off Spotify for years. I believe it only recently came back to Spotify.

also: the record companies actually all own a piece of Spotify and the record companies and publishing companies are the only ones making any money off Spotify. Artists aren't really making jack. The only ones who are really making anything substantial are the ones who also own their own publishing rights.

Musical acts make $1 million+ per concert (if they're doing arenas), so they're not in the poor house.

Rogan has $100 million, so there's no need for him to do anything different.  His ascension has been interesting.  He's sort of done the McDonalds thing of being consistent.  Not amazing, not perfect.  Just consistent - grinding it out.  He's been podcasting for 20+ years.  And despite being gullible for conspiracy theories (even the really dumb ones), the one biggest thing he's had going for him was his lack of an ego.  He's said countless times that he's an idiot, that he's an expert on nothing, and that no one should base their political decisions on what he says.

He has had experts in an incredible number of different fields on, talking for 2-3 hours, while asking questions and for clarifications just as any layperson would.  THAT is what's drawn people in.  He's not always up against a commercial break or arbitrarily ending the show at a set number of minutes, and it's allowed for conversations to occur that you can't find anywhere else.  Not because he's particularly deep or knowledgeable, but because he's never been beholden to anyone.  He ends the podcast when everything's been fleshed out, not because a focus group says an ideal podcast length is 92 minutes.

I can't tell you how many times I've been enjoying one of my other podcasts and they "need" to wrap it up.....because.....reasons?  Because if you spoke about philosophy or college football or religion for 7 more minutes, the world would explode?  All your listeners would complain?  What?  It's stupid.

Joe Rogan isn't great at anything except not being a slave to the clock.  The mainstream everything can't handle that.

I prefer reading personally if a person has a point to make.  I have never listened to any of these podcast things, probably a reflection of my ancienity.
